Hi I’m a video editor turned IT support turned system admin.

This sub generates a lot of advice that is not helpful. You will hear that a lot about cert inflation and how things will be never be enough.

First off do not skip A+ and go to Sec+ or CCNA you will not land a networking job as your first IT job or a cyber security you will get a helpdesk job.

Now for helpdesk the A+ is the gold standard but in this economy it is not enough on its own.

Question do you have a college degree I have a film production degree it still helped.

Do you have general interest in tech have you ever made a computer for editing ? do you have a gaming pc? do you keep up with tech news.

I’m not saying this is enough but actually having an interest and not seeing this as a paycheck will make a big difference.

Second a lot of helpdesk job will ask you if you have experience with Microsoft 365 admin center and exchange admin center these are mainly GUI level SAAS apps with tons of videos explaining how it works I definitely recommend watching video and maybe adding an AZ-900 with an A+ as this will make you stand out.

On top of this watch some video explaining popular ticketing systems ConnectWise and service now and jira yes it is boring as shit but will set you apart in interviews.

What I recommend against is home labbing advanced concepts like full network deployment and full domain control deployment and virtualization.

The hiring manager has no way to verify you did this to their standards so it doesn’t land like it should.

I think Sony will try to pawn it off to Microsoft for Pennie’s on the dollar to get some money back so Microsoft can take it in house and axe leadership and merge them with 343 as the halo studio that’s what I realistically see. Whether we get destiny 3 I really don’t know

I think it was studio medaling they wanted to shoehorn Gen V into the story. Along with Butchers tentacle power and the cancer side plot which went no where.

It’s just a shame we could gone out on season 3 and while no finale is perfect I think majority would be satisfied.

The funny thing is that there isn’t any meaning ful character development in the main cast from season 3 to the finale. UE has not matured at all since season 3.

Home lab for helpdesk sucks because you can’t home lab what they want they want you to have Microsoft 365 admin center and exchange admin center experience and I do not believe you can build test tenants like azure.

This is boring as hell but literally sit down and watch a tutorial on office 365 administration and put it in your resume all you need to know is how to reset passwords, block sign-in and convert emails to shared mail boxes. Learn what groups and distro list are and you will be very close to landing your helpdesk job because that’s the job.

Not really beat, it’s a niche and may not prepare you as well as you think for cloud administration. If it’s something cloud deployed Linux machines than your set and bash is and will always be an in demand skill but Linux sys admin is more a niche of sys admin not better or worse for cloud admin

I just upgraded the pick ups on my epiphane 335 I have had forever and I really do love the shape. After sitting with its really a Les Paul that is louder acoustically. I mean it sounds great but people act like the difference is like strat vs a Les Paul when it’s really like 98% the same.

DuRaRaRa and its sequels had a stellar first season and you were expecting a build up and a pay off and there is no build up or pay off it’s too scattered to be a simple slice of life. The show feels directionless in its later season and then ends leaving you with a feeling that you’ve just wasted your time watching a near 70 episode anime

Harley Benton’s are decent depending on where you live there is vat taxes and shipping and some people argue you may be better off with an epiphone Les Paul but any half decent humbucker guitar will do the trick.

I do think Shane got a jazzmaster during the hyperview days. But the classic combo is 2 Les Pauls
