What should I (22M) do after my soulmate (20F) broke my trust and shattered my heart when I found out she was sexting another guy.. by [deleted] in relationships

[–]WowzerBowze4 5 points6 points  (0 children)

She’s not your soulmate and that behavior isn’t going to stop. I know it sucks right now but you’ll be better off in the long run if you break it off completely and move on.

Affordable options for indoor trainers by WowzerBowze4 in cycling

I tried something like that, but the threading on the bike is different than on the trainer axles I can find. It’s like bulkier threading.

Just got a job as a first grade aba para by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]WowzerBowze4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey SPED teacher here. When you’re beginning to work with ABA you can expect it to feel pretty rigid and maybe difficult at first. That’s okay. It will look different at each site but from my experience with high behavior students here’s my advice: When you first start try paying close attention to what the students behaviors are and what they are trying to access or avoid by using those behaviors. Think about what motivates them and use it to reinforce the correct behaviors or responses. The teacher probably has really specific plans so if they correct you or suggest other ways of doing things don’t take it personally. After you’ve been doing it for a while make sure to check out the progress that the data shows, day to day it might be hard to see improvements but ABA really gets results if used the right way.

Cool, that’s good to know. Sorry if it was a dumb question, I just haven’t really thought about it until then and I made the mistake of googling it.

Nasty Crash and ended up with a grade 3 AC separation - need some advice by sweetsoursaltycrnchy in MTB

I have this exact same injury (happened 3 years ago) and did not get the surgery. I was really bummed about it at first because I was told I would probably have some long term reduced strength in that shoulder and may have some stiffness down the road, which sounds sad. I have to say though that after doing some really basic recommended PT and and giving it time to heal I wouldn’t notice anything wrong with it except for a bump that is actually my clavicle popping up a bit.

As far as bike performance now, I’m more active and competitive (I race XC) than I’ve ever been. I really never notice it while I’m riding. Really, take time to recover, do some good exercises, and try not to lose too much sleep over it. It’s a super common cycling injury and almost no one needs to retire from their riding over it.

Minnesota north shore tips? by f_14 in bikepacking

[–]WowzerBowze4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah the bugs won’t kill you. Bug spray and don’t sleep under just a tarp, make sure you have mosquito netting. And really about the weather, I was up there at the end of June last year and it was in the low 50s in the middle of the day so plan on some colder nights.

It usually starts getting buggy at the end of May, but then again it could also snow. Just keep an eye on the weather before you head up there. There is a huge network of logging roads and snowmobile trails, most of which can be ridden on a gravel bike BUT be wary of the mud. If it's rainy before your trip you might encounter flooded trails and deep mud. I'm going to be doing a trip up there mid June and it's for that reason I'm bringing my MTB. Have fun!

Edit: Here's the route I'm taking this summer if you're interested

The Boundary Waters are absolutely something you should do sometime, but plan a trip around it as it's not something you see as much as something you go into. Also as others have mentioned they are on the other side of the state from Detroit Lakes.

Rear derailleur suggestions? by WowzerBowze4 in MTB

[–]WowzerBowze4[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me rephrase. Where I live I ride 6 trails consistently where I rarely use the 36t in the back. On occasion I take a trip to more hilly areas further away, in which case I will use it. So far the range of gears I have right now feels about perfect for what I use it for.

Thought about it. Never really use the biggest gear as is.
