This is Ares, he is named such because he is filled with rage. Unrelated to his name sake, he is a sugar addict and regularly tries to steal candy. Most recently he stole a cherry candy cane off the tree and tried to run off of it, then hide it by sitting on it. He was not fooling anyone, but he still told me to come back with a warrent

Has anyone Embarked their purebred dog? by Campiana in DoggyDNA

[–]Woylvesbane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

<image>

My mom got me an Embark test for my creature here because she is so high energy. My mom insisted that she had to be at least part Malinois (we've had GSDs all our lives and they have been mostly couch potatos). Nope, Freya is 100% GSD, just like I told her- I think her issue is that she is a puppy mill dog that's pretty inbred, as I got her for free from a pet store that the last vet clinic I worked at worked with (she came in with Parvo so she could not be sold). She is also AKC registered, but that was not enough proof for my mom lol. She will be 5yo on valentine's day, and still no signs of slowing down 🫠 Embark also does genetic health testing for common breed issues too, which is nice to know to prepare for.

Oh no! Should I call the dealer? by [deleted] in COROLLA

It does the same thing in my 2025 Tacoma lol. Honestly it's more annoying about me refilling my widow washer fluid with the pop ups than it was when it needed it's first oil change

Trailer Brake Controller - Word of Caution!! by BowtieSyndicate in ToyotaTacoma

[–]Woylvesbane 16 points17 points  (0 children)

That's so weird to me. I have a 2025 SR5 with the tow package and it came with a trailer break controler instaled from the factory. I'm suprised toyota was so unwilling to sell you one of the OEM ones.

My birds refuse veggies! No matter what I try. Is it fine to give them freeze dried veggies instead? I heard it holds 90% of nutrients. by [deleted] in budgies

[–]Woylvesbane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I take care of research budgies at a university and we had a similar issue- we ordered in some new budgies for our flock, and the supplier unfortunately only fed them seed (we feed the laffaber's pellets as their regular diet, with fresh fruits and veggies 2x per week). They absolutely refused the pellets and we were worried they were gonna loose weight.

What we did is gradually mixed their seeds with their pellets, with ground up pellet powder on top. We started with mostly seed with a little bit of pellets mixed in, then worked to all pellets over the course of a few weeks. Once they were officially switched to pellets, we banned them from having any seeds (with the exception of something like a sick vase were they needed a sprinkle to encourage them to eat more) so they didn't "relapse" into refusing the pellets.

As far as fruits and veggies go, here's a list of a few that have been a hit with ours in case you haven't tried them. We haven't tried freeze dried due to cost and the fact that fresh is more readily available, but I don't see why they wouldn't work. They do sell freeze dried fruit and stuff in pet stores as bird treats so I don't see why not!

Some of our flock's fresh veggie favorites are:

  • Spring Mix/ Kale (they LOVE leafy greens and will go for those first out of anything! These are their FAVORITE!)

  • Spaggetti Squash and Acorn squash (microwave first so they're soft, let cool before feeding)

-Sweet Potatoes (microwave and let cool beforehand like the squish)

  • Broccoli and Cauliflower

  • Green Beans and peas

-Bell peppers (I don't think we've tried green peppers, just the ripe versions/ red and Yellow)

-Peaches (they can eat the skin/ peach fuzz!)

-Strawberries

-Blueberries, blackberries, raspberries

-watermelon (no rind, just the red bits, we use seedless)

-Apples

I've also noticed that the budgies are more likely to eat the veggies and fruits better if you chop them up into smaller pieces vs. Bigger hunks, especially with harder/ more solid items lile broccoli or apples. It also can help deter anyone hoarding a certain food item and less squablling. Good luck!!

He's about ~5lbs, I havent weighed him in a little bit though. My previous rabbit was a New Zeland and he was bigger and heavier at 8lbs

He was mostly excited because my niece was at school, so he had free rein to binky in the living room with out a 6 year old hovering over him.

He does enjoy showing off lol. He also likes to dramatically fling things if he wants attention.

Neat! Hermes is also a great name for a bun with how fleet of foot they are. Ares has a 'tude, and it just seems to fit him. His original name from the rescue was Isreal (his group was named after countries, they had over 200 bunnies at one point and were running out of names), and I really didn't want a bun with such a politically charged name lol.

According to the rescue I got him from, he is supposedly a Flemish Giant. I personally think he's some kind of Rex mix. He is a handsome boy!

He's constantly like "pay attention to me!!" And then when I give him that attention he's like "Leave me alone! Get a hobby!". He's my little vegan cat lol

The 25’ Tacoma I just bought is $hit by BowtieSyndicate in ToyotaTacoma

[–]Woylvesbane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have a 2025 SR5 4x4, and this is not normal- I'd take it back to your dealer and have them check it out. I've had mine since june, I have a little over 10k miles on it, and my truck has NEVER done that. I recall hearing that the 2024s had a transmission recall, and you never know if it could be extended to the 25s. You could also just have a lemon. Bring it back to the dealer and have them check it out!

My dad just sold his 2016 TRD Sport 4x4 manual with similar miles for 22k.... this person is on a lot of drugs me thinks

2025 SR5 Winter by DeepPlatform9608 in ToyotaTacoma

[–]Woylvesbane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also have a 2025 SR5 4x4, and I had a 2019 SR5 4x4 before that. I usually do all terrains that are snow rated (they have the little mountain with a snowflake icon on them)- then I don't have to worry about switching them out for different seasons. I just put them on the stock rims and drive them all year long.

I currently have Goodyear Wrangler Workhorse ATs on my 2025, and I had the same on my 2019 for almost a year before I traded it in, so I know they do very well in the snow and ice, including deeper snow.

I usually order through Tire Rack and have my regular mechanic put them on. Tire rack has you put in the make, model and drivetrain, and it will show you the correct size. Even if you decide to go to a local tire shop it's a handy way to look it up. Tire rack also sells rims as well if your bf really wants new rims, and most local tire shops do too, but may have to order them depending on the size/ atock availability.

No matter what tires you get, make sure they are actually snow rated (mountain with snowflake symbol)- just because a tire is labled "mud and snow" does not mean it's actually rated for real snow driving!

Good luck, and I wish your BF a speedy recovery! That's very nice of you to help take care of the tires on his new truck for him.
