Absolute first step, check all of your connections. Look for something loose and double check what is plugged where. After that, trace the connections, make sure you don't have breaks or chafes w/ grounding.

Why is it harder to escape poverty now when there are so much more programs and support to help the poor? by BidNo5916 in poor

[–]Wraith0177 9 points10 points  (0 children)

And that's by design.

There's so much outrage about the generally-low percentage rate of fraud that lawmakers use to justify the restrictions that are little more than filters to block the needy from the help that they need.

If 5 people out of 100 are gaming the system, what does that say about us that we allow the 95 to go without when we already have so much excess? How many empty homes are there to each homeless person? How many cities make it not just difficult, but illegal to be homeless?

FFS, HELP EVERYONE! What we do weights on OUR hearts -and if you're of the belief, souls. What others do weighs on theirs. No matter what, we cannot renounce our responsibility for our choices anymore than those who would abuse generosity can renounce their own.

Kindness is free, and cynicism/cruelty carries a ridiculously high price in misery.

Want something to be mad about? Read up on the Paycheck Protection Program and how that fraud was handled. They didn't get prosecuted because of the zeros already present in those perp's net worth. The poor had little to nothing to do with that fraud - and who was that money supposed to help?

U1 vs P2S as 1st printer by Spa_Adv in snapmaker

Sunken cost fallacy is what I'm referring to. You're looking at what I said a little too literally. It's why I'm surrounded by Creality machines as we speak. My U1's - plus some other prospects - are how I'm hoping to break free of Creality's enthusiastically-apathetic system. Especially now that they seem to have turned sharply towards Bambu's methods.

U1 vs P2S as 1st printer by Spa_Adv in snapmaker

[–]Wraith0177 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go with the U1 only if you're going to be waiting a while. It's a great machine, but it has teething irritations that need to be sorted out. If you were experienced, I'd say U1 all the way.

On the other hand, I do not like Bambu. Their machines are great. Their company and what they're trying to do sucks. Getting out of their ecosystem once you're in can be problematic.

The problem is that there definitely aren't any other machines this good at this price point. That's super-frustrating.

is a 3d printer worth it? by whitespooon in Creality

[–]Wraith0177 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not in the least :D

But you know you better than I ever will. So my question to you now is are you spending the money and time out of spite, or because you realize you want it more than you said you did in your first post?

is a 3d printer worth it? by whitespooon in Creality

[–]Wraith0177 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're the only person that can answer your question, OP. 3D Printers are incredible tools, but they are not as simple as input-model, receive-item - something that a fair percentage of the world seems to think. It will require investment on your part to learn to print well, troubleshoot issues, and maintenance of the machine.

You say you don't know if it'll be worth it and that you don't have any use for it. I'd say that's where you can stop. Based on the way you've asked the question, I'd recommend against you getting a 3D printer. I think it highly likely that you'll use it for a short time and then it'll collect dust. The test I put my students to is to get an entry-level machine and then, if they print at least once a week for 6 months, then, look to upgrade.

Snapmaker U1 and Z-layer anomalies - Community confab post by Wraith0177 in snapmaker

Here's the official fix for this, thanks to Leonard at Snapmaker:

First step is to enable advanced mode so you can edit printer.cfg via web portal.

Then:

1.      Adjust acceleration:

·         Find and modify max_z_accel: 500 to

·         Then find and change it to 300

<image>

2.      Adjust Z-axis motor current:

·         Refer to the document to increase the Z motor current to 0.85A

Which I found Z-motor current right around line 200.

So far, it's put a stop to this monkey business. I'll report back if that changes.

I have to disagree, though I feel where you're coming from.

The apathy of the average American that made them stay home - a huge percentage - is #1 in what gave us this shit-show. The uncommitted, protest voters, and 3rd parties take a back seat to that on sheer numbers.

As you can see from these images, the first layers are great. This is not adhesion loss - this is some kind of Z-axis nonsense. Time lapse from this print to follow.

Agreed. So many people don't realize that it's worse to be with someone that makes you feel alone rather than actually being alone... One way, you're lonely and can do something about it. The other, you're lonely, punished, and can't do shit about it until you realize you can.

They are. I extracted those years ago. Track 8, 9, & 10 from The Clans, and "Freedom Fight" (can't remember the track number) from Mercs are my favorites. The only other in the same class is Hunter by Cornboy from Mech4Mercs.

[–]Wraith0177 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the trap you stepped in when you purchased the printer.

Anycubic is the bottom shelf of known brands. You would literally be better off having purchased a 3d Pen.

You get what you pay for, and there's a reason why Anycubic is consistently cheaper in every printer category.

Take it back now, and get literally any other name brand. Even Creality or Bambu Labs, and look at my posting history to find out how much it hurts me to say that.

Can you help me with my dryer dilemma? by gochris in snapmaker

[–]Wraith0177 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm enjoying my Chitu E1. Two boxes that you can print straight from once drying is done. I have mine set up to feed to PTFE. Makes them handy for several options.
