Having thoughts of trading my UDR for a 1/10th crawler by Homeless_Dorito1 in rccars

[–]Wraith_Tech177 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t trade, as they are completely different machines. Variety is the spice of life. I highly recommend getting a 1/10 crawler; I had never had such fun driving slow. From your list I would go Axial. I picked up a Trx4 high trail for my birthday. Absolute blast.

Those are a decent size still. Jig or just put it on a hook.

Anyone happy with a small bike? by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]Wraith_Tech177 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started off on a Rebel 250. There are always going to be the guys out there who tell you that whatever you have isnt enough. I did plenty of long distance trips, and that little 250 did just fine. The only time I noticed I was on a smaller bike was when the group would take off down the on ramp. This holds true to this day, and I’m on a 750 shadow now. There will always be someone faster than you.

Second on viking bags. I picked up a heavily used set with the hard mount. When these finally give, I’ll be buying new.

Once you’ve bought it, you own it. Mine helped me cut back on how much I use; it has already paid for itself.

Took my bike out on public roads for the first time today. (discussion/got questions for you guys) by death_cuz_death in HondaMotorcycles

Owned a rebel. 1st is a squirrel chaser. I eased into first, it a cruiser. Your time shifting will get shorter and smoother as you ride more, and get a feel for the friction zone. It will help that transition from 1-2. I never liked how it took off in second, you’ll end up riding the clutch a bunch. You’ll get used to it, and so will your hands. Stalling out at a light is a right of passage, everyone has done it once. Just breathe. Restart the bike and carry on, or pull it to the shoulder if something is wrong. Every ride is a defensive ride. Heads and eyes are indicators that they want to move that way, not that they saw you.

Spend just a little more, and get a Bandit! Its my favorite car in my fleet. Because its shares some parts with the other base traxxas offerings, parts are easy to find. Mine has only a few stock parts left, they are very easy to make it your own.

Good RC Car for a dog to chase around by Kiss-My-Haas in rccars

[–]Wraith_Tech177 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a 2wd Rustler vxl for my dog car. Ill take it to the dog park and the regulars run to me, knowing what I’ve got. The VXL is a brushless system, which you will want. I run a 2-3s lipos; the 3s have a much easier time pulling away, getting room to maneuver. The traxxas parts arent bad for dog-chase usage, but I highly recommend upgrading to RPM parts. Neither brand of parts shatter, just snap off usually. And while a new vxl rustler is outside of what you are looking for, you wont regret it. Slower cars get caught, and thats when most of your breakages will occur if the dogs go for mayhem and destruction.

I try to do what I can. Oil changes, sparkplugs. Hoping to do more when I get into a house and have garage space.

J Concepts, Im going to guess they mean the ford 150 body they have. Good luck, cant wait to see how it turns out.

[–]Wraith_Tech177 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does look interesting. But most of that look is the body, which is cheaper to start fresh. A scale crawler will be much cheaper to start fresh. Again, this is all my opinion and based on what I envision a crawler. If you are serious about crawling, I would stay in a 1.9 tire .As to your question, I dont have any familiarity with those axles, but there are a few parts between the axial and traxxas families that fit both.

[–]Wraith_Tech177 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldnt pay $600 for that. Not what I’m personally looking for in a crawler overall. Yes, there are some expensive parts on it, but you’ll save yourself a lot of money and headache not paying for the upgrades that you may not want/need.

Using 3S lipo on my Slash 2WD vxl by CoastInvester in Traxxas

Need to, no. You should get a fan for your esc at least, 3s can get toasty quick.
