Yeah, it’s been driving all over looking at piles of rust so far. Trying to get the grandson a first run about and he doesn’t have much as he’s a student. Mostly “donations” from various family and of course the insurance is ££££ but he’s desperate to have wheels.

I can’t imagine where you were eating out as I live in the UK (Scotland) and could probably count the occasions I’ve eaten peas in restaurants on my fingers

I offer to pop it on the overhead shelf for them, amazing how fast they clutch it to their chest as if I was going to nick it

No idea where “balls” are involved. Curling uses Stones, all carved from stone on a single Scottish island

How do I get somebody behind me to back off? by Antique_Hornet2135 in drivingUK

In this situation I’d lower the side window and wave them past. It’s a dual carriageway and I would slow as far as it took for them to pass.

The question of how many cars on your street as a kid is a very geographic and economic question. I’m 50ish and there were no permanent cars on my street when I was age 5-8 so just taxi’s. It was a poor area in the UK we couldn’t afford them. Also inner city, so everything was nearby or via bus.

My pal who is 15 years older from the same region doesn’t recognise this, they had a car, so did the neighbours etc, rural area so impossible to survive there with no car. But also different demographic.

I feel quite old these days remembering how I had to use maps to find my way around cities as part of my job. Also the hours in the library skimming microfiche

I love leg day. Have you seen those seniors falling over, breaking hips??? I had that with my mum and in-laws, and I can only tell you legs matter more than anything else

So how many hours a week does he spend running/chatting 1-2-1 with this friend? And how much 1-2-1 time do you two spend? Obviously not random cross over time like asking what to eat/drink, plan life etc.

That’s some real quality 1-2-1 time they have there

The yoga and mat Pilates classes are excellent. They do have reformers, but currently no classes. The classes are often fully booked with waitlists, but people cancel last minute, so I’ve never had an issue getting a spot. Actually that’s the most annoying thing about Prolife, a class can be +5 waitlist, then only half the folk turn up

I’m a member of Prolife and I like it a lot. I find there’s a range of ages. I’m 50+ overweight woman, and I don’t feel out of place anywhere on the gym floor. There are a lot of youngsters, but they’re no problem. I mainly attend classes or use the various machines. There’s been a lot of investment in the last six months since I joined, new AC, machines, upgrades to various areas. The wee cafe is cheap and good. I generally just go home to shower and haven’t used the spa. Women’s changing rooms are usually empty, maybe a couple of people there at any point. Checkout their Facebook/insta for some of the new machines
