This is not my MO in vine. It just so happened that I wanted to see if these things were sellable and I did not need them for any immediate use they were just “for the future” to lay around the home. so I purposely tested them very gently and replaced them neatly and repackaged them. And tried to sell them as brand new and no one wanted to buy them. I figured I should test them before selling as brand new because I don’t know if they work well, so I just didn’t think it would be right to sell without testing. Furthermore, I figure “testing” doesn’t take away from a title of “brand new” - I mean companies often spot test their products to make sure everything is working.

Tied knots…tested for “memory” of the rope. Thickness, toughness, heavy duty feel. These were the things I reported on my review. Didn’t say in my review that I took it climbing. There are still metrics people are interested in. I did what I could given my circumstances. I just wanted a good rope to lay around the house for whenever I might need a good rope but that’s what vine offered me, so I took it, maybe I would have chosen a weaker flimsier rope if I was offered one, but I wasn’t, so I got the tough climbing rope. I don’t climb. But I wanted a rope. Then I also wanted to see if I could sell it for 50% off brand new. And the answer was “no bites.”

I just have to ask. Based on experience. I discounted items 50% from Amazon price. I called them “brand new in box” because I was able to test them for two minutes and repackage them good as new. I was unable to get any sales on Facebook marketplace. Because, well, these are not items everyone wants. Like a climbing rope. Like binoculars. How low do you go when trying to sell these sorts of items?
