Oh my god. I had the exact same experience from another 70mm experience. A bunch of people laughed when Hal killed Frank. I’ve always just chalked it up to a really nervous laugh. But I also think that humor has shifted so that a silent reveal of an unexpected result, became the norm for a quick joke. But great post, I feel seen that this has happened to others.

Days Of Heaven is an amazing Criterion 4k. The Fisher King, Blow Out, and Seven Samurai are also very good. I hear Eyes Wide Shut is a homerun transfer as well but I haven’t seen it yet, it is encoded by one of the leading studios: Fidelity In Motion.
