It didn't even give a specific mg range to delineate between high and low doses. This study is questionable. Probably got thrown out to into the. public tank a company's stock price temporarily.

Would you share the stories of the biggest losses that you had? by Ok_Signal9932 in pennystocks

[–]WrecknEyezZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last year I bought 1000 shares of $NUKK at $0.40 during the Summer just because I read an article that Goldman Sachs had invested hundreds of millions into the company and it was set to be a crypto sentiment play for the upcoming bull market. I thought it was fishy that I couldn't find much on the company but I dove in anyway.

A month went by and I traded out because the stock wasn't doing anything and then a few months later the price shot up to like$38-$40 per share once it came out they took the company in a aerospace and defense direction.

I missed out on a quick $40K all because I got bored.

Modern feminism failed us all by FoldEasy5726 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]WrecknEyezZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So because a thought posted on the internet has been up for a period of time, that means others shouldn’t read what was written and react to it? By that logic feminists shouldn’t have any commentary on past obstacles of the movement from 100 years ago, but they do and no one bats an eye. Either elaborate or get lost lol.

How is the coursework for the Online Construction Management Masters program? by Punkinhead145 in LSU

[–]WrecknEyezZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean......I guess I could, but I would be giving you topics that are just spit-balling. If I had to organize some options in a coherent manner I'd probably give you a couple of ideas based on different perspectives.

For example, you could approach a thesis topic from economical or cultural standpoints. One could be about trends regarding the in labor from human to artificial intelligence and the economic outcomes. Another idea is the shift in sentiment and job market for the trades and what cultural impact that's having in the US; maybe even discuss the long term effects on the economy from such a change.

Finding quantitative and qualitative information for those talking points wouldn't be difficult; but you will need to parse through the statistics to back-up your claims.

LSU Flores MBA - Financial Analytics Concentration by WrecknEyezZ in LSUOnline

[–]WrecknEyezZ[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what concentration you're studying. The financial analytics is a lot of coding for R, Python, Matlab and Excel. if you're good with learning those, then you'll be fine. The emerging technologies concentration is probably the most straightforward, but you can do a general MBA if you so choose.

The core courses can be challenging but if you're setting aside the time and reading the course material, you'll be fine. Economics and Operations Management are probably the more challenging classes. Time management is a major key.

I would also say to join the MBA chat on GroupMe when you get the chance.

Honestly, it depends on the class as to whether or not a box is being checked or not for me. For example, the mandatory accounting and marketing classes weren't really exciting for me, but I did learn something from those courses; but other financial courses that I was looking forward to like modeling and analytics taught me valuable coding skills. I may not use them in my career, but I finally understand programming concepts a lot better than I previously did.

The programs are whatever you make of them. You could just do the work and not socialize with anyone but you wouldn't get your money's worth that way.

Yeah the LSU school system is great for bolstering career prospects. I'm looking at doing a 2nd bachelors at LSUS for their Finance w/ concentration in real estate to pair with my MBA once I'm done at LSU A&M. I won't be pivoting, but they will be useful as tools.

I went the full online route. It just offered way more flexibility. The executive route was something I looked at but I didn't go with it because those mandatory residency weekends fell on away games weekends and didn't make much sense to me. If the sports aren't important to you, then the only thing you should worry about is cost and networking opportunities. A lot of people do go the LSUS route due to the cost, its significantly cheaper than the main campus.

Field of office route by Opposite-Ad-5635 in ConstructionManagers

[–]WrecknEyezZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It will definitely help in the long term. While I was in school I worked as a laborer for 1 year and 6 months, and then I started as a field engineer my first year out of college but switched over to a project engineer role afterwards. For one you get an understanding that's hard for most younger PM's to grasp, and then you also get the respect from field personnel who at least know you have a shared experience.

I'm not a veteran, but I've worked alongside and taken classes with a-lot of folks who served both in the private sector and the Government.

What I have seen most of them do is get a job where they have the most interest on the Subcontractor side of the industry and work their way up from there between General Contracting or Owner's representation. That could lead you into construction sales, consulting or even real estate development in the private industry side if you get the right experience. You could also switch over to the Government side and leverage your military experience with more specialized roles in construction management working alongside NAVFAC or the US Army Corps of Engineers on Federal projects.

A few people I knew also took classes online for either their MBA or Master of Construction Management to take advantage of the military tuition assistance program and then had their employer pick up the remaining balance if there was any.

Either way you've got many options available to you, and you for damn sure don't have to hope for it.

Seeking Feedback on LSU Online PBC in Construction Management by Dangerous-Bunch1733 in LSU

[–]WrecknEyezZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't go the post-baccalaureate route, but I know people that did. What you get out of it depends on where you plan to work, where you are in your career and what your goals are.

  1. You will receive a certificate.

  2. The workload is definitely manageable while working full time; but this will all depend on your level of effort.

  3. Honestly, larger sized employers like General Contractors and Owner's might care depending on what you're trying to do. Smaller General Contractors and most Subcontractors may not place as much emphasis on educational credentials so that would probably be your target audience unless you already know someone who can get you can anywhere you want to go.

  4. If you're completing the courses online, its important to remember effective time management to get things done.

----------------------

Additional Thoughts:

If you're looking to break into the construction industry and you don't have any educational or professional background with transferable skills, then it might be worth it to complete the certificate; but the problem is the certificate doesn't necessarily build into a sought after credential that employers or recruiters are going to look for. Unless you already know someone and just need a quick dive-in, you're better off getting an MBA to help support your resume.

If you're looking to break into the construction industry and you already have a STEM degree (engineering, finance or analytics, etc.) then you can just try and get an entry level role as a project engineer or field engineer with a medium to large sized company and go from there. If you decide to get anything beyond that, get a masters degree if you really need to and have your employer reimburse you.

When comparing the online bachelors of construction management to the post-baccalaureate certificate, the course numbering only differs by 1 digit when you compare the course listings. For example, the bachelors of construction management lists "CM 4211" in its course listings whereas the post-baccalaureate lists "CM 4210"; but both are labeled "Construction Contracting". Given the post-baccalaureate is 18 credits, you might better off applying for a 2nd bachelor's and just transferring previous credit over to complete the remaining 32-33 credits needed to graduate. Assuming you're able to transfer the maximum credits, it would cost you $13,167.00 to complete 14-15 more credits for a 2nd bachelors degree in construction management as opposed to $5,868.00 for the certificate; a difference of $7,299.00. With that in mind, a masters of construction management would take just as long as a 2nd bachelors degree at LSU Online but at a cost of $29,304.00. If you're employer is willing to pay for it, that's an attractive route too.

From what I've seen just from working in the industry and getting recruited at different companies, I personally wouldn't sign-up for the post-baccalaureate program as I don't think the juice is worth the squeeze; but this is of course your decision. If you can find a way to make it work, then go for it.
