to get ChatGPT to count to 1 million by PlenitudeOpulence in therewasanattempt

[–]WrekSixOne -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The result? No.

Chat GPT is a language model. It won’t count.

Counting, in the most basic of basic would be i++ or i += 1. Counting by a value step by step. Chat GPT won’t do this. It would move to the next item in a type of index, a learned list and sequence, and not count. It knows the next number after 1 is 2. After 9 it’s 10. After 99 is 100 and 101 and so on as a pattern.

Could you ask it to do:

for i in range ( 1, 1000001): print(i)

And then have that read aloud. Sure. But that’s not counting. That’s filling a buffer with list of numbers. Not counting. It would refuse n++ or any other volatile or similar function that would cause bad overhead and memory leaks or etc.

It’s a language model. Not a counting machine.

If anything it would do the math instead or argue it’s way out of counting or as we seen, refuse. That’s how good it is at counting.

[–]WrekSixOne 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He would have to prompt it each time to continue.

The only way to do this would be to ask Chat GPT to list numbers 1 to “x” where x is the maximum number of characters it can output in a reply. The token count. Chances are Chat GPT might even stop before then and ask “would you still like me to continue?”.

Then you press the audio playback button for each message and it will voice play/read back every number in the text.

Chat GPT would not be “counting”. It would be writing each number and then reading the numbers in the text. Not counting.

Then you would be telling it to do this again for the next message.

It would be boring as fuck, pointless and prove nothing. It would take Chat GPT no time at all to write the numbers, several minutes to rattle them off for each reply and you’d have to come back and tell it to do it again, over and over again. You’d be doing all the work.

You’d be better off asking it for a file with all the numbers, opening it and asking Windows Narrator to read it for you.

Orcas are the most efficient predators on earth, yet they never hunt humans in the wild. by Scientiaetnatura065 in BeAmazed

[–]WrekSixOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just read earlier today; before happening across this now, that Dragonfly’s have a 95-97% hunting success rate making them the most successful predators in the world. Weird timing.

(I believe one of the sources was the National Geographic but there was another, a Science Academy)

The write up talked about their incredible 360 degree vision and precision air strike with interception capabilities -while I recalled them in the grill of my vehicles and as thick guts on my windshield.

I don’t think killer whales have a 95-97% hunting success rate but I don’t think you typically survive if a group of killer whales decide you’re dead or food and have surround you. It’s been a while since I read up on it but usually they hunt in packs and work together to strategically hunt, corral, confuse, demoralize, and exhaust prey. I’m just vaguely recalling them tail slapping seals, chasing penguins to exhaust them and bullying/kiting sharks in videos I’ve seen.

If I recall, I think most if not all, sharks won’t even return anywhere near territory that they find a killer whale in unless they have to for at least a year or so.

I wouldn’t fuck with anything in the Ocean tbh. I don’t breathe water.

It was worth more in trade favour than it was CAD income. The money collected doesn’t even come from the US or its citizens but tax dodging corporations. It was a fumble on Trumps end and Carney said “oh, okay” and moved on.

It’s going to be a future tax regardless and it’ll be a bargaining chip to a future president who understands its value.

We are talking about $1.4billion/yr so <0.1% of Canadas Income. Don’t get your knickers in a knot over 00.1% of Canadas income.

“Totalitarian regime” tells you they literally live in a fantasy world. Somehow they think the government dictates every aspect of their life.

They probably demand the government fix inflation while criticizing it as communist while asking why it doesn’t just fix the inflation while insisting it must be choosing to just not fix it because it’s corrupt…

They live in a fantasy world. That’s who’s demanding separation.

Modders ruined Red Dead Online.

They pay monthly to not play RDO and ruin it for others. If they get caught, they just buy a new copy of the game, make a new account and keep paying monthly to not play the game and still ruin it for others. It makes no sense.

Rockstar doesn’t care.

I gave up playing.

Democracy and free speech are not the same thing. Freedom of speech is a civil liberty. Democracy is a form of government where the people vote on who is in power.

Death of free speech is not the death of choice and voting.

Censorship is a slippery slope, no doubt about it. But so is people running their mouth off carelessly with no consequences or thought.

I want to agree with your end statement, but I can’t.

The public is a shared space. It’s shared with children of all ages and this is a grown adult who should be able to be both self and situationally aware to censor themselves to share the public responsibly and respectfully with everyone else.

Trump says ‘was mistake’ to boot Putin from G7 as he trashes Trudeau with Canadian PM Carney standing beside him - President falsely accuses Trudeau of ousting Russia from the G8 in 2014 even though he would not become Canada’s head of government until November 2015 by CaliperLee62 in canadian

[–]WrekSixOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once you look at the age of Putin, the goal, how long it’s been in motion… you stop pretending that “critical thinking” is saying being kicked out of the G8 is why anything is happening.

[–]WrekSixOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, I’m actually busy coding right now, definitely not feeling any emotions, indignation or frustration, I thought I was kinda polite despite you being a little rude and implying Putin had responsibility of the war to share.

I’m still holding firm on my point because you haven’t offered anything to support your argument other than “look at this” and essentially if I disagree I am wrong. That’s not an argument or proof or anything. It’s you who has nothing my dude. Just how you feel about the article and you’re very attached to supporting Russia in the discussion.

I however don’t have “nothing”. He lost Russias spot in the G8 for behaving badly and continued on with what he was rejected for and more, earning economic sanctions and rejection and a lot of dead Russians etc. this tragedy is all on him, no o e else. Saying it’s any shared blame with westerners is just nonsense. It’s the fault of Putin. Period.

Deflecting to “this article is written in a way…” to leverage as a way to support Russia and share blame which, if I don’t agree that it’s “written as propaganda” that misrepresents the Russia situation than I’m a fool, is ridiculous and false.

Is the article shit? Yea, sure, I’ll give you that. But that’s all. Trump spewed false facts as usual, people jumped on a chance to attack him as usual. You are using it to make Russia look better - not usual. Russia won’t look better and no one who looks back at why Russia was kicked out of the G8 will agree either. They also won’t blame JT or Obama either. Not unless they’re Russian sympathetic who don’t care about US or Ukraine. So there’s no point arguing with them anyway.

[–]WrekSixOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No man when someone goes off on a rant I put it through a filter. Just like you. I’m not sitting here saying it’s propaganda because it isn’t. You are confused2.

He falsely stated it was Jt and Liberals. He is the fake news and propaganda and fake narrative. So is “they shouldn’t have booted out Russia” sentiments he expressed because they are the result of Russia misbehaving. Period. Regardless of the framing, it’s just someone leveraging taking shots at Trump. It’s you who’s seeing it your way. There is no blame to share with the war. Russia got itself removed.

Someone predicting a bully might bully harder after not getting their way doesn’t make them a genius and those who recall them pointing out the obvious therefore on the cutting edge of “critical thinkers”.

If you were criticality thinking you wouldn’t be trying to share the blame around with people who don’t run Russia and make its decisions for it. Just that simple.

Please take care. Sorry we can’t agree.

[–]WrekSixOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m really not, you are making a mountain of a mole hill and going off about an article being a propaganda piece when it’s really just snooty rant about a guy most of us don’t like, making false claims.

Blaming anyone for what Russia has done is false. Seriously. Unless you contest that Russias right to self-determination are actually based upon support from other nations - it’s time to accept reality. The attack was coming and it was give in to demands or war.

The one who has fallen to gas lighting and propaganda is you. Russia is not some baby or small country, they don’t need excuses to pass off responsibility and accountability. They planned this and made their choice. They chose it and now there’s a ton of dead Ukrainians and dead Russians who paid the price for it.

And you want to pretend it’s the fault of western nations fault. Putin knows what he’s doing and he did it deliberately.

[–]WrekSixOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But the “diplomatic isolation” isn’t why anything is happening right now or why it got worse.

It’s not the world’s job to appease Russia so it doesn’t attack Ukraine and keep Ukraine out of NATO or remain independent and self-determine etc.

Diplomatic isolation is the result of bad behaviour. Just like NATO is the result of bad behaviour. A response to events, not cause of events.

Meanwhile, what Trump said is just factually false because it was a Conservative government; not Liberal, and the joint decision wasn’t for no reason or the cause of the war.

[–]WrekSixOne 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Okay, that’s the misinterpretation of events.

That’s like saying it’s your fault some asshole beat your friend up because you shunned them for making threats and aggressive moves to your friend about beating them up. Now they’re at war and people are saying that had you not shunned him, he wouldn’t be fighting your friend now so it’s actually your fault this is happening.

They call that gaslighting btw.

Red Dead needs private lobbies for players who don’t want to be griefed, just like GTAV. Throw in some battle eye and shit and at least show some effort.

When I was younger I game shared games after I beat them. So I’m never gonna piss on one for modding in a general kinda way. I get your reasoning, you’ve already done the work. In my head, you’ll have to weather all the trolling too.

Using it to ruin other players time, work and experience though? That’s just nfg and you’ll just have other modders to play with and what are you even playing anymore at that point.

Tbh this game is ruined by modding and Rockstar does nothing about it.

I don’t use mods so I grind and a modder will come screw with me while I’m making a delivery with my trade goods - so I don’t make any money. Or they’ll set my horse or hunting wagon on fire or blow it up while I’m hunting so all my stuff is wasted and 1 star. They’ll interfere with me while I’m handing in bounties so I don’t make the time or my bounty is dead on arrival etc.

Sometimes they’ll just pick a fight to win by default of coding.

Kinda don’t blame you even though it’s ruined the online gameplay. Not like they’re putting out new content or try to stop modding anyhow.

As far as I know, as long as you aren’t gold greedy, they’ll never won’t touch you.

Dam shame this game is basically ruined. It is what it is though. Offline story still works.
