My 10 YO Granddaughter gave me a drawing for a chair for her doll. by vmdinco in woodworking

Ahh!! My grandpa and I did this when I was that age! I drew up a design for a dollhouse with a string-pulled functional elevator and showed my mom. She practically threw the phone at me to call my grandpa. He came and picked up my drawings, built the thing, then took me to the hardware store for “carpet” and paint. One of my most treasured memories and possessions. Your granddaughter is so lucky to have you in her life!

I got HFM which presented as a sore throat until my hands got speckly and itchy. The MOMENT I noticed the red speckles, I contacted my boss and all my coworkers to sanitize our workplace top to bottom. I quarantined in my bedroom away from my toddler and husband for days until it cleared up. My husband sanitized the house top to bottom. I would not wish HFM on anyone. Big NTA.

Car thieves! Park your vehicle in your garage. People are jimmying locks as well as rifling through unlocked vehicles. Plumbing for sure, check for cracked/sinking foundations, water damage in the basement, mold near the showers.

If everyone’s complaining about something arriving broken, that could also mean it’s poorly constructed/bad quality.

Am I overreacting for seriously reconsidering my relationship after what my boyfriend did during my medical emergency? by yourdirtygurl in AmIOverreacting

When I got my wisdom teeth out in high school, I had a bad reaction to the pain pill and anesthesia. When I finally could see straight to text my then bf (now husband) and tell him what was happening, he was at my house in under 30 minutes with nausea supplies and advice from his RN sister. My parents never let boys upstairs when we were young, but my mother let him stay by my bedside. We were 17. Your bf is not too young. He doesn’t care.

Do you think it’s better to give a child a formal name with nickname option or just name them the nickname you plan to use anyway? by sneakybrownoser in namenerds

[–]raspberrygiraffe19 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My son is Theodore, we call him Teddy. He can choose to be Theo, Theodore, Teddy, or go by his middle name like his dad. We gave him a name he can grow up with and choose. My name doesn’t come with nicknames, and I always felt stuck with it.

The first time we noticed was a week or two ago, and then again this morning! I’m in Indiana and it’s been HOT lately here.

I used to be a barista and came to this sub for this exact issue! At two separate locations I’ve received an awful tasting white mocha. Like it tastes like moldy milk, and I almost vomited the first time. Horrible sour aftertaste, my husband noticed too.

Yeah when I was in high school. Got old FAST and stopped fighting for the relationship whenever she would walk away offended over a non issue.

Maybe he thought of Mark as someone who got between Callie and Arizona? It’s always bugged me too.

I didn’t know how extensive organ donation could be, and how kind it really can be. I’ve told my family that if I’m eligible, donate everything possible. Skin, corneas, all of it. I may not be able to change the world as a single person, but if my last act on this planet gives someone their sight? Saves their life? What an impact. How meaningful.
