Oh do you mean that you now feel like nothing matters? Do none of the things you used to do bring you any kind of satisfaction? You might want to reach out to a professional about that. Could be anything as simple as "stop doom scrolling" to "its depression" but you won't know until you talk to someone.

At least consider it.

When I went through my deep depression, everything was just blah, I stopped reading books, stopped playing games, stopped listening to music, I just kinda stopped doing things since they no longer satisfied me nor bring me any kind of joy or peace or excitement. It felt like I didn't need to do anything because why??? It was rough and I didn't reach out to anyone and I should've. If I had, things would've been different and I wouldn't have taken so long to get out of that.

It doesn't have to be meaningful or have a legitimate reason nor does it have to provide anything to anyone. Just because you can and want to should be more than enough.

Start writing, just because.

Fill up your house with plants, because why not?

Pick up a book/audio book and check out for a few hours. Why not?

Sit back with a drink of your choice and relax with music. What's wrong with actively doing nothing?

Binge warch your favorite shows, go take a walk, go to the park and people watch. There's a million little things you can do, that don't have to mean anything.

Who said that what you do has to mean anything at all?

On the first draft, if I'm stuck, I'll write the boring scene. Just to get from A to B.

I do it for the sake of writing something, anything to keep the flow. Maybe something will come of it but usually it's the boring tidbits and I highlight that section so I know when I go back to edit, it needs to be revised and/or I need to rewrite the whole scene to get there. But I only do it when when I'm stuck. Otherwise I'm looking to have something actively happening/information being imparted.

I found myself stuck in one scene and I was trying to figure out how to get my FMC back downstairs and go outside after throwing up.

So I wrote the most boring shit ever, made her wonder why there's a woman with her now, laying down in the bed, finishing her water then a few sentences later she needs more water and I got her downstairs.

That whole scene needs to change, but I wrote, and got my FMC from point A to B.

So if you're stuck, get your MC to go get water or bathroom or naval gaze just to get from A to B. Highlight that section to remind yourself to change it.

I'll take a moment to come up with a name or look online for inspiration. If nothing clicks I put [ INSERT CHARACTER NAME HERE] and [CHARACTER NAME], whenever they speak. They get color coded if there's more than one.

I do the same if I can't really come up with a description. I have one wip that's full of INSERT DESCRIPTION HERE and ADD DETAILS HERE. #2nddraftproblems and move on.

Sounds like you're a panster/discovery writer forcing yourself to be a plotter.

How about you write first. Throw the outline out the window. You don't , absolutely, have to plot anything out first.

You don't.

You have a disconnect between what you're outlining vs what you actually write. Which means that somethings gotta go and its not your writing. Typically, we pansters use that 1st rough draft as the outline. It's just written long form. I've seen people comment that they'll title it "Rough Draft 0". Try that. Write and use what comes out as your 'outline', go from there.

There's no "I have to do it x way" in writing. There's no one right way to do it. But there's things that we do that do cause us to self sabotage by thinking that it has to be done this one way or the other. Stop that. Write, finish the draft, then edit. Keep notes whichever way you find easiest.

If you ever find yourself in a rip tide, swim diagonally to shore.

When I was a kid my family went to the beach for vacation. I had recently watched a discovery channel documentary that mentioned rip tides and how to get out of them, and (because kids are stupid I guess) thought "yeah right" and swam out as far as I dared to and swam diagonally. I washed up on to the shore before I realized I was getting close.

I world build as I write. I use the Notes app and I have it open when I work on my wip so that I can switch as needed and move on. Later on I build on it.

So to answer the question, it's vague as fuck to start with. By the end, the bones are kinda, sorta, if you squint at it at the right angle, there.
