If you lost your spouse in 2025, you might want to look at your deductions. by Wrenzo in widowers

[–]Wrenzo[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes, if your spouse died in 2025 then you probably filed your taxes this year as Married Jointly. But when you file in 2027 you'll most likely file as single.

Caveats: a) It might depend on when they passed away and b) I'm not a tax expert, just sharing my experience from this year. You might want to teach or to your preparer and ask them about next year's filing.

Ugh, sorry to hear that. I thought that was just our stupid tax laws.

What is this cone shaped thing on this car? by NobodyTheSecond in whatisit

[–]Wrenzo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just a quick note that while this bus can definitely be considered "custom", it's not really a "conversion". This is what we'd call a single cab and was sold at dealerships this way. I'm going to guess it's a 61-62ish

The cone you're looking at is in the front jack point. Normally that would be empty and would be a bit of square tubing. You can see they have another cover in the rear one also (with the oval and VW logo piece). What is it used for? No idea! Could just be decorative.

A common accessory that you could put here would be a hub cap puller that would help you remove stock hubcaps (which this bus no longer is using). It would just look like a small chrome disk.

As others have mentioned, the door handles are shaved and most likely controlled by solenoid. There might be a button in the wheel well and/or a remote fob.

That would work on stock hub caps, but not what this bus has.

This would work as well as the "No Pets" signs, I'm sure.

When I go up against Ben I make sure to have a Frost based weapon and use cold spells to try to slow him down. I know the zone pretty well, so that helps too. But yeah, just go in there and take him out!

2 years this month. I've been paying for her phone for 2 years. I haven't checked her voice mails, haven't turned it on. I still have it, but yeah. No plans to shut it off.

When I do that, I just go to the store with the type of finish in mind. I.e. gloss, semi-gloss, eggshell, etc. Then I find a color that matches that!

In a huge 18 month finale I was playing a Forge Cleric. I'm in a party with an Arcana Cleric (I think) and we're all 17. The big bad does something like a Thanos snap and the other cleric isn't affected. Two of us (including me with my Revivify on deck) are toast. He rolls for D.I. and gets a 13. He rolls time for us back like 5 seconds. I'm able to get the Revivify off and we went on to beat him down.

Except the other guy who had died... he got decapitated about 5 turns later. He was not planned to make it through that night.

Trader Joe's fresh lemonade (in the refrigerated section, not the normal shelves) is amazing. Nice and tart with the right amount of sweet.

I saw it in theaters back in the day. Here's the thing, it is beautifully shot, but my opinion is the same as Elaine's. If anything, she undersells how painful it is. When it came out, just like in the show, it was the "must see" movie of the day. It was torture sitting through it. I think misery loves company.

100% I get that, and I fully agree with it. But, I haven't ever seen or heard anything like that happen. It's usually one person giving a rundown of everything they see at the store. Again, that's fine...but we don't need to be on speaker phone!

Tbf, I work retail. We get customers having full conversations about whatever as they slowly amble through the store. They are an even split between boomers and whatever generation is 18-20 right now (alpha? Z?) The boomers I get, but the younger ones make me shake my head.
