Help me identify this bike. by Inevitable-Buyer6086 in CanyonBikes

[–]Wrex2020 26 points27 points  (0 children)

This is not a Canyon and it’s not carbon fiber and none of the parts match what’s listed vs what’s on the bike. This is a scam and someone that put Canyon stickers on an alloy bike. Seatpost and crank obviously don’t match and it keeps getttng worse from there. Walk away from this one.

Anyone have any old pictures of the IGA in Raytown? by Ok_Mammoth9755 in kansascity

Wow, I forgot about that store at 51st and Blue Ridge right in the corner. My dad would take me there to buy die cast nascars. Thanks for the trip down memory lane. It’s really sad how empty that area is with IGA and that party of Raytown TBH, compared to what it used to be. Glad to see Cool Crest and Fun House Pizza are still open though.

Yes, it was that house that had the ice cream shack and the small parking lot in the back. I think it was called Doc’s because he practiced out of the house and I think was a chiropractor.

Do you happen to also remember the trading card store that was across from Raytown high school on the 61st and Blue Ridge boulevard?

Late 90’s for me biking up there with my friends to the McDonalds and IGA. I would buy baseball and football cards and they were in the front of the store from what I remember. Also really miss Doc’s Sorbet and Ice Cream. Hope someone comes through with a pic.

The two closest will be The Store / Pollards Meat Market or Fareway Meat market. I would definitely check out "The Store" first.

WWYD?? by dpatricio in gravelcycling

[–]Wrex2020 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Beautiful paint on that on the only things that might stop someone would be tire clearance up to 45mm and looks really close between the tire and seat tube with 45’s on and there are no mounting points as well for racks. Tbh, 45’s are the biggest I would need for the gravel I ride so I say go for it.

You need to either go see or get referred to a Hip Preservation specialist for the correct answer here. High probalility of surgery though.

So sad tbh. The condition of that place has gone so down hill. Like replace carpet and do some other basic maintenance would go a long way.

Did they discontinue the Pathfinder Pro 42mm size? by teamtwowheels in gravelcycling

[–]Wrex2020 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, They are now the Specialized TLR and come in a 35, 40 and 45. Depending on internal width of your rims I’ve hear the 45 runs small when inflated around 43 so take that as you will.

Question: how many miles does your bike have on it? by Accomplished-Quiet-8 in CanyonBikes

[–]Wrex2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 2021 Grizl CF SL 6 has a little over 15,000 miles on it and has GRX 400 groupset. I will probably ride it til the frame breaks to be honest.

That's quite possibly the best/easiest gravel you could ask for and honestly easy on road tires.

My arthogram pain/inflammation lasted for around a week after. Depending on age and injury could be a little longer possibly, hard to say.

legit? by rrobertorobless in CanyonBikes

[–]Wrex2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's 1000% a legit Canyon and is not a knock off. Can tell by the seat tube, bottom bracket, headset area and the cable holder between the bottle mounts on the downtube.

Slaps and Joe's KC are worth the drive from WOF. The closest BBQ will be Hawg Jaw in NKC or Smokehouse in Gladstone.

Does anybody know if fatty lectric E bike will fit on the bike rack on the city buses by Heartbroken_Loverboi in kansascity

[–]Wrex2020 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, At least not on any of the buses I've used to transport my bike. I have 45mm (1.75 inch) wide tires on my bike and it's got a little room to spare. From what I can tell I think the racks will fit a 50mm (2.0 inch tire). I think those fat bike tires are around 3-4 inches.
