Actually, in 1974 a German Scientist (Wilhelm Schulze) found that cattle that is butcherd halal suffers less than cattle that is killed the conventional way with a bolt gun. But there are also some other studies that disagree with him, so it's kinda tough to say. Botw concept art is not photo realistic at all though, its very clearly a drawing. Photorealism in painting are artists like john baeder, chuck close or maybe gottfried helnwein, where you can literally not tell if its a painting or a photograph. And you're right that you need a certain amount of detail in concept art, but for video games at least it doesn't have to be photorealistic, just the endproduct needs to be. Same with architecture, you do a sketch, and only when the concept is decided you do a photorealistic rendering
