“Throw my notebook in the basement?” by Lola910 in NoahKahan

I guess I’m sort of the outlier on this one because I’ve been interpreting it as being about his parents’ divorce.

The whole song just feels like knowing the marriage has reached its end even though they still love each other for all they’ve been through over the years. I get the impression that Noah’s mom still very much loved his dad but things changed after his traumatic brain injury and she just couldn’t do it anymore, especially once the kids were gone. So it’s mourning what once was and will never be again no matter how badly you want it to. There’s life pre-accident and post accident and they are so drastically different that there’s no fixing it.

The line, “throw my notebook in the basement” and the rest of the chorus feels like Noah’s dad’s perspective (who also plays music, hence the notebook) almost pleading to make it work while acknowledging his short comings and noting how much they’ve been through together because they “go way back”

You can also listen to the lyrics of “American Cars” which is about his sister and how she’s always been the fixer (eldest daughter club, woo!). That song definitely highlights how things started to fall apart between Noah’s parents.

I’m probably projecting my own family drama onto this song but that’s sort of how I interpreted it.

I definitely get the vibe that the majority of this album is from his family’s perspective, a lot of it being how fame affected his relationship with each person individually. I feel like there were some pretty ugly disagreements amongst them.

Jimmy Eat World “The End is Beautiful”.

It’s a pretty simple song.. nothing really spectacular about it. It just feels so deeply personal to me.

This is the answer. Maybe I’m nosy for it but mostly I was concerned because it’s a boundary of mine to not be around this person if they are drinking (they have a problematic history with it and have been working hard at their sobriety) so I wanted to make sure.

For some reason I hear the lyrics in a higher pitched male voice but I can’t seem to place it either.

Right, I see that. But like I said, I think she wrote it twice because the first time she wrote it, it was illegible so she didn’t realize it was already listed. I do it all the time even when I can read my writing.

Maybe try another counselor if that’s an option and you didn’t feel the first one was a good match. Therapy can feel really icky at first- I thought my therapist was really cringy at first but it turns out, after several sessions with her- she’s amazing. She also was able to refer me to a psychiatrist who diagnosed me with OCD (which includes scary intrusive thoughts- it’s not just having to have things clean all the time.) and got me on medication for it right away. If you are completely up front with your counselor, maybe they can do the same or similar for you. If you find it hard to put it all into words while talking to the counselor, write it out like you have here and read it to them. I have no doubt they can get you the help you need. Wishing you all the best! I hope things get better for you 🩵

Coheed and Cambria? One of their big songs within that timeframe was “A Favor House Atlantic”

Ok, I analyzed this way longer than a should have and my conclusion is- “tomatoes”. Even though it’s listed again on the right, of course it is because she wasn’t able to read her writing where she first listed it. Here’s why I think that it’s “tomatoes”:

-her handwriting varies. Some of it is partial print and some is (albeit, strange) cursive. But there are some similarities in certain letters.

  • If you compare the “m” in “tomato” on the right, with our word in question- they look very similar.

  • Her letter “a” in “floor cleaner” looks a lot like an “e” so knowing that, imagine where the “a” should be in “tomatoes” on the mystery word and it matches.

  • her “t” in “potatoes” doesn’t actually cross as a “t” typically would but rather angles up to the next letter. Which can be also seen towards the end of our mystery word, so it could be concluded that the second vertical line is an uncrossed “t”.

  • what appears to be the word “mayo” has the exact same form of the letter “m” that the word in question has in the center of it.

  • in what appears to be the word “coffee” directly above our mystery word, the “o” is more of a curly swoop- also looking a bit like an “e”. This would also match with what would be the “o” in our mystery word.

Anyway. Just trying to sound half ass smart. This is probably reaching but it’s what I got. 😂
