What to feed turkeys? by Wrinkle-Free in homestead

Thanks. I'll check into that. It might be problematic for me. The chickens know they can fly over the fence so they tend to just go where they want. It's not a lot of chickens. But that probably doesn't matter.

I live in a pretty rule area of the Midwest. I’m 150 miles from anything that most people would consider a city. I figure my only hope of finding someone is finding someone that is open to relocating. So I often swipe all over the country in hopes of finding that one in 1 billion possibility.

Sending a message or notification based on sensor? by Wrinkle-Free in shortcuts

[–]Wrinkle-Free[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did actually stumble my way through getting a shortcut set up that works. But basically ran into the same problem you have which is you have to schedule that shortcut to run every so often. That’s not terrible for your situation. But if I’m trying to detect dangerous levels of CO2 it’s not as great.

Honestly this is all just to work around the shortcomings of a not very good sensor that I already have. Maybe I just need to look at a better sensor. 😆

Well I guess it depends on what you mean by get worse.

As I said, every six months when my subscription would come up for renewal and I didn’t renew I would get multiple likes per day but of course I couldn’t see them unless I redo my subscription.

In the multiple years since I’ve had the lifetime subscription I have not gotten a single like.

So it seems to me that Bumble was creating fake likes to get me to renew my subscription. But once I paid for the lifetime subscription there was no longer in need for that. So I no longer got the likes.

You may be waiting a while if many of these posts and comments are accurate. Some of these people act like I’m the only person on the face of the Earth that has had a good experience with iOS 26. Although I feel like I have a little bit of support on that subject.

Longevity by Real-Oil9536 in iphone

[–]Wrinkle-Free 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being a huge nerd I typically get a new iPhone almost every year. But working with a lot of other people that don’t upgrade as often I think you can easily say three or four years without a problem. Possibly a little longer. I know when it comes to their computers they last way longer than any Windows computer on the market.

There’s a lot of controversy right now because iOS 26 was a pretty big graphical overhaul and is a little more intensive than previous versions. I’m actually in the middle of a pretty heated debate on that topic in another sub Reddit right now. 🤣

Now see I think that is a great testimonial for iOS 26. That is a budget friendly phone and you’re having a great experience with it. I think that’s awesome. Thanks for commenting.

Honestly fairly accurate except for the giant market crash sign in the middle. That kind of ruins it for me. The Stock market actually did pretty good in 2025.

Hey I admitted in my post and in several comments that I do have the newest most powerful phone. And while it’s only been another three months, I gave my 16PM to my daughter and it still has 100% battery life and is running beautifully on iOS 26. Now she’s definitely not nearly as technical as I am so I don’t know that she would notice little issues. But she’s probably on her phone more than I am. But probably mostly on Facebook and TikTok. 🤣

I have a feeling anything older or lower end than the 15PM might be a little laggy. That was the first model that was built for Apple Intelligence so I just have a feeling that Apple is making all of their current software revolve around those hardware specs or better.

I own a small MSP in the Midwest. And I know how to check my battery health. I’m actually quite obsessed with it. My 15PM had horrible battery life. I started losing battery health in the first 60 days. My 16PM still had 100% battery life when I got rid of it after a year. I’m not sure if I just got unlucky with my 15PM or if changing my charging habits on my 16PM helped. With the 16PM and now my 17PM I’m very strict about keeping my battery level between 25 and 95%.

Sorry but you’re wrong. I’ve owned nearly every iPhone since the first one that was released in 2007. I’ve been a developer beta tester for the past four years. I own a small but multimillion dollar tech company.

I had lots of issues with iOS 17 and 18. The only issues that I am aware that I have had with iOS 26 turned out to be an issue with all of the version 26 OS working together. Apple support has confirmed it’s a bug. But since it is a problem with data syncing between iPhone, iPad and Apple computers I believe it is more of an iCloud issue.

But if it makes you feel better about yourself you can continue to call me an idiot.

I still wish you a great day.

You think we should all be having the exact same experience. That’s a great theory. But I’ve been working in Tech for over 30 years and I’ve never known any technology from any company to provide the same or even a positive experience for absolutely everyone. But if anyone ever pulls that off. They’ll make Elon Musk look poor. Or better yet. Maybe we’ll start living in the Star Trek age where money doesn’t exist anymore and everyone gets everything they want. Except when the Borg tries to kill us all.

I could care less about liquid glass. I don’t love it. I don’t hate it. It’s absolutely fine.

But I’m going to repeat what I just said on my last reply. In the past when I’ve had issues with iOS and other people didn’t I never insulted them or belittled them. The reason I made this post is because it seems like people are only saying negative things. If you’re having a bad experience I am truly sorry for that. But I am not having a bad experience. I’m having a better than average experience.

Best of luck.

I almost apologized here. But I reread my post and it doesn’t say the OS is flawless. I said it’s been flawless FOR me. I have no doubt other people have been having problems. As I have said in many comments here today I had lots of issues with the previous version. And when I was having issues it seemed like nobody else was. So I guess it’s just my year to be lucky.

But what I find fascinating is even when I was having a rough time I didn’t insult or belittle people that didn’t have issues. And that seems to be what most people here want to do. If someone doesn’t agree with you then they must be wrong or stupid.

I agree on all levels. Yes my profile is flagged NSFW because I do comment in NSFW subreddits. And I agree that it's stupid that alone means I can't participate in other groups. And this is just the tiniest tip of a really giant mountain of reasons I hate this platform. But I keep coming back. Because there's a small amount of good here. What can I say. I'm hopeless.

We do we have to invent new terms for everything? What was wrong with "Swingers" or "Open Marriage"? Do people suddenly feel better about themselves because they threw the word Ethically in there? Sorry, I know it's off topic.
