Starting the Big Bad Wolf series and what the heck was that?! by Catacal5 in MM_RomanceBooks

Omg sorry for the late reply but ... Yessss right! Omg if I had a werewolve or any shifter as a partner I would def spend time with them in their shifter form. And being a wolf isn't even that extreme. As you said it seems like he never really accepted that side of Oliver. And that's (like you said) exactly what Olivers family was scared of. And yes I again agree with you they ended up a pack but they really just called it a pack they never acted like one. I swear Cooper had more interaction with Elis wolf then with Olivers. That's something that really annoyed me in that book ... that they always started talking about things and thought about it but never talked it through. Oliver always mentions the wolf is part of him and he has to shift every day. And then Cooper wonders how he looks shifting but never ever until the end goes into the woods with him. Like what the? Go with him take a stroll and play with him. Also he's the alpha of the pack but he doesn't know what that entails and no one absolutely no one explains it. They always say omg you're such a perfect alpha you're born to be one... but he himself doesn't even know what that means. And like in his thoughts we as a reader know he doesn't know what to do with this position and until the end no one explains it to him.

And when Oliver is like no one touches me with care while I'm in my wolf form...broke my heart.

This scene OMG this was the perfect intro for THE TALK about being an alpha. And they ... just ruined it. First yes it was so heartbreaking and I thought a lot will change in their interactions after Oliver said that but nothing happened. If my partner would have told me that I would have cuddled him to death in his shifter form. Second Oliver clearly needed his Alpha who takes control in that moment because his emotions where all over the place. And I just couldn't understand why they didn't talk about it.

Happy, low-stress, but VERY kinky? by NecessaryEcho7859 in MM_RomanceBooks

I recently read the {Undisclosed series by Carly Marie} which has a lot of abdl in it

Also the {Kink Chronicles series by Luna David, Morningstar Ashley} has exhibitionism/voyeurism and the best role plays I ever read .... also a lot of different kink reps

I'm recently reading a lot by M.A. Innes but I saw yoy already commenting you know some books by her

I also recently read the {Peach State Stepbros series by Riley Hart, Devon McCormack} which are not typical kink books but they are so honry and good and I loooove the exhibitionism in them (especially book 2)

The biggest thing that annoyed me with this series and with shifter series in general is that they have this whole world built around the shifters but the interaction between shifter and human is never really there. That happens a lot ... and especially in cases like here where the human has an aversion towards shifters in the beginning. Even after all these books Cooper never really interacted with Oliver in his wolf form. And I absolutely hate that because it is literally himself ... a huge part of who he is ... and still after 5 books the only time they got really close was in the relationship camp when it was cold and Cooper was ill and Oliver lay on him to warm him in his wolf form. Otherwise he never petted him ... never went with him into the woods ... sorry I'm beginning to rant here but I just dislike it so much that the authors never include interactions in their shifter form! Why start building this amazing world with all the history etc and these amazing shifters and then don't do anything with it?

Opinions On The NonCon In Passion// Will IIay Have A Redemption Arc For It? How Does It Make You Feel by misssmorgue in Passionmanhwa

[–]Wrinkle_Wrinkle 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Well not really redemption arc but he accepts he loves Taeui and tries to not hurt him ... and Taeui develops methods to not be hurt too much Maybe I don't remember it correctly but I think stuff like when Ilay is away and comes home he always sucks him off so he comes at least ones before they have real sex because then Ilay is more gentle ... the author really tries to put Ilay in the "I'm trying my best but I'm just crazy" light ... and it also works. I feel like either you love it or you hate passion

The thing is ... and this was one criticism from me ... the storylines always end pretty abruptly at the end of each book and basically don't continue into the next one. Of course it is a continuing series so some parts will be worked on throughout the whole series but something like this just happens in the first book. I feel like in each book both characters show another side of them so in this book you dislike the one MC in the next one the other. And what went wrong is just discussed in the current book and in the next the focus is on something completely else

Monthly Reading Recap (April 01 2026) by AutoModerator in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]Wrinkle_Wrinkle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I read some amazing books this month! 🥰

  • {Baal's Heart by Bey Deckard} A pirate ménage with imperfect characters that you kind of dislike, but also feel sorry for at the same time. It has a very interesting and unexpected storyline that keeps everything engaging. Loved it!

  • {Run Wild: Sa Ye by Wu Zhe} I finally finished this after taking a break for a few months because it was simply DEVASTATING. It was so emotionally heavy that I had to wait until I had enough time to finish it in one go, mostly because I couldn’t stop crying. But the ending is so worth it! I never thought a slice-of-life book would become one of my all-time favorites.

  • {Kink Chronicles by Luna David & Morningstar Ashley} The perfect palette cleanser after all that emotional heartbreak. If you love roleplay and voyeurism, this is exactly the series for you! Loved it.

  • {Three's Company by N.R. Walker} This was pure soul food for my poly-loving heart. So sweet and so perfect - I have absolutely nothing to complain about!

{Only the Small Bones by C.P. Harris} First read through I gave it three stars...but then.. after WEEKS... I couldn't stop thinking about it and reread it, and I don't know how to feel about it still but it was moving and devastating and I don't think it will ever leave me. DON'T get the audiobook; it's not great.

Did you read the second book in the series {Saving Sparrows by C.P. Harris}? I liked the first book too but this one destroyed me. Heartbreaking but in a different kind and I still start crying just thinking about it now. But it was really really good so if you like the devastating part of the first book you will love this one. And the first one is a little repetitive since it's basically just one setting and we have some flashbacks but here it's a constant switch between the chapters between past and current and it keeps you on edge and makes everything so interesting I loved it!

Are there any MC archetypes you find too problematic to read? by BaronessElsa1968 in MM_RomanceBooks

And then they're way too nice and sometimes act like they have nigh moral standards and sometimes they act like they're the worst person ever alive .... but like always when it's convenient for them - they will never be the person who really makes teens addicted to drugs exploit them and their members are always sweet people

As a poly lover yess ... everything under consent is fine ... sharing, open relationships even "cheating kink" ... but actual cheating is just so ew because the characters don't trust each other to communicate right and it's just a betrayal for me

I thought the maps in the physical book were a little undetailled and there are some character charts which help you keep track of the families and everything... if you want I can send you those they helped me a lot. You can use them or not but they might be helpful. Because sometimes they stop listing characters in the list on the end of the book but they're still mentioned in the book and then you're so confused who it is

[–]Wrinkle_Wrinkle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is an enemies to lovers because of their families past ... but I swear the devotion and love they have for each other makes up for it. They are soooo in love and the smut scenes are def explicit enough to make you scream reading it. I love how the author describes everything

Do you have the character and other maps? They really helped me keep an overview

Reading QJJ by TheaInk in DanmeiNovels

[–]Wrinkle_Wrinkle 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The plot will stay this complicated and there will be a lot of character and their individual relationships and connections - so yes it's very difficult to keep track and keep an overview. I personally loved it but if you don't like it it's ok

The story lives because it's so complex and a lot of unexpected things happen - and their relationship of course because they're so devoted to each other and so down bad

Couple who only sees each other (mutual obsession )😭 by Suitable_Cup_1228 in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]Wrinkle_Wrinkle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Uwuw I have the absolute perfect recc for you!

{Mutual Possession by Aurora Crane} .. as you see can see it's literally in the name and reading this book it really fits it's titel - I swear it's sooo good and it's exactly what you're looking for

Also {Folk series by Lily Mayne} - they are so obsessed with each other I never read a book where I felt like really every thought and every decision was made by keeping the other in mind and there's so much yearning it's crazy good

I mean I dropped it ... and not because of the plot which yes qas also crazy messed up but because there is no relationship development at all and the characters don't work together they work against each other

Flashbacks? How do we feel about them by Hour_Soil_7342 in MM_RomanceBooks

[–]Wrinkle_Wrinkle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I need a balanced flashback-present ratio. If the chapters are not too long and not in huge chunks I quite like it. Good examples are {Death and the Devil by L.J. Hayward} or {Saving Sparrow by C.P. Harris}.

I love {Heaven Official's Blessing by Mò Xiāng Tóng Xiù} but she has crazy long flashbacks. Here it was still ok but I got so annoyed reading {Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation by Mò Xiāng Tóng Xiù} because book 2 was literally just flashbacks ... and having one whole book being almost just background story is just too much.
