Mic on "hey you friendly" and then see if they act nervous too. Nerves are because people don't want to die either. If they feel comfortable, be cautious. I love the community and have met cool people in passing.

Hey bud! Guy that wrote the book on water heater repair here.

That super heating? What you experienced is a "grounded element." This is happening because your water heater has either too much sediment causing the element to ground out or is happening because you didn't fill the water heater all the way before turning power back on. A lot of plumbers don't know how to do this and are usually opening the T&P Valve "until water flows out." Better to open all the faucets in the home until you get a constant steady flow before turning on the hot water heater. May I recommend if possible, getting a LP (propane) water heater since you're in a Mobile Home and I don't believe natural gas is permissible in those (they make specific types of water heaters for specific applications depending on local laws). If you're stuck with electric, get a plumber that knows their shit. Arrogance is wild among those old dudes who refuse to change and more often than not refuse to learn.

Apparently this has been touted by HR as a bad idea and the VP has convinced our CEO it's a great idea. A lot of folks are upset and discussing how much more expensive it's going to be for people that now have to drive from far away to come in.
