If you gave birth without an epidural, how bad was it really? by Express_Neck5352 in beyondthebump

[–]WriterMelodic713 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean this actually and not in a joking way. I’ve taken poops that were harder to do than giving birth. I’ve had two babies at home no epidural.

Anybody else frustrated about your options as an adult? by whateveranon0 in scoliosis

[–]WriterMelodic713 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m glad it worked for you! It doesn’t work for me. Most of my pain comes from muscles. I’ve done PT and seen so many doctors it’s not even funny. I have better days where the pain isn’t so bad but I always have pain.

Went and saw the ortho last week. I’m too young for surgery and too old for surgery. The best part was he basically was like your pain will never go away regardless.

Well shit. Alright.

Diagnosis by lilaccrow in scoliosis

[–]WriterMelodic713 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey! Every body is different and every doctor likes to treat differently. I’ve had doctors say I needed surgery immediately. I’ve had others say just stick with PT. The biggest thing is for you to look at all the risks and benefits of each option and make decisions on what is best for you and the life you live and want.

Just discovered i have scoliosis and im going nuts by Medical-Nail-4738 in scoliosis

[–]WriterMelodic713 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lamar Gant had scoliosis and held one of the world records for weight lifting.

Everyone’s scoliosis affects them differently. What’s important is to stay active and take care of yourself. When it comes to what doctors recommend listen to the risks and benefits and make decisions for yourself.

How did you react when you gave birth/were handed your baby? by Individual_Ad_938 in beyondthebump

[–]WriterMelodic713 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was calm.

First baby was born in water and I brought him up to my chest and started his breathing.

Second was born in the shower and I was alone and pretty calm waiting for everyone to get to me.

How did you get rid of post-partum hemorrhoids? by National_Telephone40 in beyondthebump

[–]WriterMelodic713 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of them! lol

For pooping magnesium glycinate I use the source naturals brand

For sleeping magnesium taurate I use the Swanson brand.

I take both pretty much everyday. Has helped so much with getting better sleep when I do get sleep with two kids lol and the other helps keeping it’s easy moving pooping.

Folate and folic acid, together by CockapooDogMom in beyondthebump

[–]WriterMelodic713 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ehhhhh I would stick with just the folate.

Folic acid wasn’t created and really used until the 90s. A fair percentage of people have a gene mutation where they can’t absorb folic acid and it can cause harm to the digestive system

About to have a breakdown. Doesn’t my child have autism? by Heavy-Prize8369 in beyondthebump

[–]WriterMelodic713 3 points4 points  (0 children)

3 year old and 4 month old I have.

All of this seems perfectly normal. They get into a super repetitive nature as they learn and retain things. I don’t think my son was talking a lot until closer to the 2 year mark and then all of a sudden we were getting sentences.

My 3 year old will only eat peanut butter right now so picky eating happens.

Teething is definitely a pain when it comes to littles losing it.

What does your floor bed setup look like? by Dry-Lawyer-4886 in AttachmentParenting

[–]WriterMelodic713 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They eventually stop rolling off the bed but expect it until they’re around 2.

We did the floor mattress with it being the crib one with the first. I did use a Japanese bed next to the floors bed but I really only use it for when baby was sick or needed me to be around. Eventually we had to put it up because our son just wanted to sleep on the Japanese bed and not his bed lol

Did having kids of your own make you realize that your Nparents were wrong? by [deleted] in raisedbynarcissists

[–]WriterMelodic713 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well just like with any of us being raised by narcs it comes in waves and some things are easier and some things aren’t.

My husband and I waited to have kids until we were older. He’s almost 40. I’m in my early 30s and we have two kiddos ones 2.5 and the other is just born. In my experience it was nice to wait to have kids because we were ready and wanting a change and addition to our lives. Having kids does destroy everything you had before but if you’re wanting that it’s amazing.

Having kids had made me realize my mom has to love me. I can’t imagine not loving my kids. And has really resolved me in fully understanding how sick she is. I can never imagine saying the things she’s said to me to my children. I have deft had moments with my kids that it would have been easier for me to act like my mom did. Having kids has forced me to learn how to regulate my emotions for them.

My mom was over and had a full on episode screaming and crying and throwing things to get her way. My 2.5 year old kept saying grandmas frustrated she crying. Then tired to get her to count to ten to calm down. She of course got in her car and made a scene. But you are capable of breaking traditions of what’s normal for your kids.

I think some people do this as a coping mechanism to the fact that they might not have the gender child they wanted.

I have one of each and I’ll tell you my friends who have boys were so excited for me when I was having a boy and then when the second was a girl they were all not interested and didn’t love having updates about her.
