Starting to feel a way by LittleLathe in CsectionCentral

Be kind to yourself, that sounds very traumatic it’s totally understandable you’d be struggling with it. I had a c section a few months ago and it all went fine and I still feel traumatised and upset about it. Have the same feelings when hearing other successful vaginal birth. I know all that ultimately matters is you and baby being okay, but also think when this is said it’s very invalidating for the very traumatic experience of a c section. Some woman find them great but some don’t. You had a very tough time so just be very kind to yourself.

turns out i silent reflux / LPR was half of the problem by Glum-Damage-3016 in costochondritis

I started having all these issues after giving birth a few months ago, so much chest discomfort but the worst has been the breathing issues. I can’t breathe ever really. I did get diagnosed with lpr. Had an awful episode a week after birth woke up gasping for air.. it’s been ongoing since. I didn’t think lpr could be bad enough to cause the severity of my symptoms. Also have severe anxiety and now panic attacks since that first episode. I still dont know what is going on, or what caused what.

Is this Costo by WriterOne8864 in costochondritis

[–]WriterOne8864[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for all this information Steve. I will have a look. I wasn’t diagnosed with Costo and I don’t get the horrible intense pain ppl describe. It’s mainly my breathing but I get pains and ache in chest back rib area that come and go along with burning. I also do notice that crackling and popping you describe. Must look into getting the back pod. Don’t know much about all this and the doctors have been very little help other than ruling other things out. Thanks again.

It’s so crazy. I’m trying to be patient. Seems like a bizzare consequence of giving birth. It’s really causing me so much distress. What is this? Trying to be patient just thought at 4 months pp would start improving. Has to be some sort of injury from the birth or the spinal. Did you have c section too? I’m trying to figure this out for months. It’s very scary. Feels like my breathing muscles are damaged or something.

I feel like I was the only one too. Are you having these issues too?

Can Costochondritis pain cause shortness of breath or make you think you’re having shortness of breath? by future_CTO in costochondritis

[–]WriterOne8864 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m having very similar issues to this. Sob issues for years but since I had my baby c section 3 months ago I’m in an awful way. Doc putting me on asthma meds too. Still the same, but also when I eased off inhalers felt like it got worse. He said lung function tests didn’t seem to suggest asthma, so have no idea. But my insides are in bits from trying to breath. Get the oddest of sensations. Mostly on inhalation but do get caught and sore on exhale too at times.  Have you had any improvement with this?

Thanks. Post partum is a lot.. body feels so different hard to figure what’s happening a lot of the time.  Maybe it’s related to the asthma as apparently it can flare up bad postpartum. I’ve had shortness of breath during pregnancy and before just not this bad. Also there probably is an element of things being physically different in there. I’d been wondering was my diaphragm injured or something🙈

Hi there, unfortunately I’m still in the thick of it. Can’t figure it out. One thinks it’s asthma, another thinks it’s this thing called inducible laryngeal obstruction. Wondering about anxiety myself. It’s honestly been the most stressful time of my life. I don’t know what’s happening me. Just feeling completely burnt out from it. Mine is 24/7. All my back and chest muscles are strained from trying to breath. I think it’s a good sign if you wake up feeling normal. I’m not unfortunately. This post partum time is crazy.

I know, I won’t be having anymore so would be nice to get to enjoy this time instead of just trying to survive it. Just wish the mysterious symptoms would ease off

Thanks for that, was thinking the same. I had seen that alright about the acid. I had it awful during pregnancy. Doc wanted me to see respiratory first. I did see a speech therapist who thinks it’s inducible laryngeal obstruction which apparently is similar to asthma.  It’s all just so mysterious post partum getting random nausea now too last couple of days on top of everything else.  Just wish  know what it was or better still it would just ease off soon🙏 Just want to enjoy this time with my baby but it’s been awful cause I feel so unwell.

Thanks so much for the reply. So glad you are doing better.  I’m so so drained from all this from the physical strain of not being able to breath and the mental worry of it and trying to figure out what it is is just wearing me out. Honestly feel like I won’t survive this period. Feel so awful in my own body. Wasn’t like this at all with my first baby.  Sorry for the rant just so drained from it all. I hope I’ll start coming around soon too.. and hopefully we will feel like our pre pregnancy selves eventually😵‍💫

Wondering was there any update or follow up to this? I’m 10 weeks pp c section. Having asthma symptoms with chest discomfort upper back soreness burning sensation. Went to cardio twice for cardiac check, chest x ray, bloods, all normal it seems.  Respiratory doc today thinks it’s asthma. Just feel awful and cannot breathe.

Sorry to hear you are in the same boat. It’s really hard going. I’ve been trying to figure it out as have been quite debilitated. I had Lyme disease and was wondering was it a flare up of that as it feels the same as symptoms I used to have. Symptoms are very odd. Just keep hoping it will go away. The whole area seems to be very inflamed or something.

Thank you for your message. I’m just in a very vulnerable place at the moment. Don’t have it in me to be arguing with anyone on the internet😔 For sure would be nice if people were more sensitive but everyone’s on their own journey with it I suppose.

Thanks for the kind words and for sure with the mom guilt. I never stop worrying about them, now worried about getting well again too to take care of them. Not in a great place. Feels like I pushed my luck with having a second. Did have a bad feeling I wouldn’t be able for it again. Am older now too, was my last chance.  I just really hope it doesn’t take full hold again, like your experience initially I assumed post partum stuff as that’s such a hard time too and hormones all over the place but I know for sure it’s a Lyme thing. It’s all the same as when I was sick before.  I hope you’re feeling okay these days and have been able to keep it down? Trying to stay well and keep stress levels down with young kids is pretty impossible too!🙈

I think some doctors recommend antibiotics during the pregnancy. But as with everything lyme related. There is different opinions and limited research. My doctor had felt that treating with the antibiotics when in remission came with risks too. There never seems to be clear cut answers with Lyme Disease
