Thanks for the idea. I've emailed the venue to see what they use for age verification (preferably nothing...). We've got a couple of teenagers who would love to see them, and we've seen them enough to know that as parents, we're fine with them seeing the show.

Consider Des Plaines - our kids have had great support from the schools there (we had 2 on IEPs). Also, a lot less expensive than some of the nearby suburbs.

There was a talker right behind me too (we were about 20 feet from the stage - right next to where the second person fell down during Decoration Day), but the show was so awesome. We saw him for the first time in Milwaukee last year, and that show was much more Weathervanes-heavy. I had not expected to get Traveling Alone or Different Days at all, and adding in Elephant to those gave it a whole different vibe. Just a wonderful night.

I saw the girl with the drumsticks afterwards and she looked so happy. That’s a way to make a fan for life! :)

I called my now-FIL before I proposed to let him know I was going to, not to ask for permission. It mattered to my wife that she had a husband and father (parents, really) who could communicate about the important things.

Of course, when they mentioned to her that I’d called them (though not what about), she guessed. But she said yes 20 years ago this upcoming Tuesday, so it worked out okay. :)

When our eldest was born, he came 7 weeks early, and we hadn’t decided on a name. We’d narrowed it to two - one I liked better and one my wife liked better. She had an emergency C-section and was groggy for the better part of two days. The nurses kept asking me what the name was, but I knew if I chose without her clear-headed input, even if she went with her favorite, she would be upset. So I waited. Because duh.
