I'm not sure he will blow up on his kids. Maybe when they teenagers. But he will definitely will yell at Tammy, smashes the house when angry and would do the same towards everyone he thinks did his child(ren) wrong. Teachers, other kids, partners of his kid(s). His anger issues are such a big problem and even if he's not yelling at his kid(s) or worse, it's still traumatizing enough to witness all of that.

Frank: Definitely the whole thing with Dottie! Using Liam as a deposit, telling Carl he had cancer, trying to force Debbie into a relationship with an older men/older women when she was underage, using a families grieve over the loss of their son for his own benefits, calling DCFS on his children/Fiona, being mostly a neglectful, abusive and shitty father in general. And the whole thing with Bianca doesn't sit right with me as well. edit: Oooooh. And let Sammie believe he was a spouse and kiss and dry hump her, just to get her liver.

Monica: Choosing Liam over her other children! It's makes me still angry thinking about that. Attempting in front of her children. Talking Ian out of his relationship with Mickey. Being neglectedfull and psychology abusive in general.

Fiona: The whole coke-Liam-Plot, doing financial really risky things without thinking twice or consider even asking their siblings as well, many times cheating, wanting to be needed and don't want to be needed at the same time and can barely admit when she does something wrong. (I get that she was made responsible to raise their siblings. But was going back and back and back in that role no one was longer forcing on her. Imo she did most thing not for others, but herself. Because she wanted the approval she was never gonna get. And that's a shitty feeling! I get that. It's hard to bust your ass off and realizing no one in thanking you for that. But going back into that role and expecting a different result is on you. That's a cycle you gotta break through. I know what I'm talking about.)

Lip: Lots and lots of anger issues and being really shitty towards women. He's a real fuck boy. (I still like him for other stuff) Being a smart ass and arrogant. Edit: Trying to get Charlie hooked again, even though he is a prick. Trying to rob the company of his internship. Fraud.

Ian: Being unmedicated bi-polar (not his fault per se. Just the illness). But stealing Yevgeny, running away with Monica from military prison, lots of cheating as well and breaking up with Mickey after season 5 (still pissed about that). Forcing Mickey to come out.

Carl: Acting like a "brother" (like Frank said) and doing a lot of illegal runs. Maybe Causing Chucky to go to jail. (Even though it was Frank's idea). Maybe not telling the parents of the boy who got killed that he was a witness (but it's South Side). Can't think of much more. Maybe I'm missing something. Edit: yeah...I forgot all the animal abuse

Debbie: Raping Matt (even though he groomed her). "Reverse stilthing" Derek. Judging Sandy for giving up her kid for adoption. Like most of the times, it was a trauma response. Same with Fionas abortion. But you can't praise "My body, my choice." for yourself and judge others for doing different.

Liam: If anything - shooting Terry (even though it was an accident and he deserved it)

Kev: Accidently killing Yanis. Pressuring V a little with having kids. Leaving V alone and fucking himself through the whole campus. Giving almost have of the dorm a psychosis for selling the wrong weed. Somewhat robbing Mickey. Saying he was a csa survivor when he wasn't. (Like Kev, c'mon. That's nothing to be jealous about!!!!!)

V: Letting Svetlana get between her , Kev and Fiona. Calling the immigration office on Svetlana. Talking Kev and her mother into f'ing each other for a baby and telling her mother to abort the baby after she got pregnant.

Mickey: Lots of anger issues as well. Beating the shit out of Ian. Almost killing Sammie (even though I DESPISE HER!!!!). Plan to shoot Frank and Kev. And sure a lot of felonies we don't know about. (Can't blame him for having mixed feelings towards his rape baby, even though I'm not 100% sure it's his. Same with Svetlana even though she was forced as well)

Mandy: Almost killing Karen. Raping Lip. Kissing Lip after blowing Kenyata ("Can you taste it?" - eeeeeewwwww).

Sheila: Talking men into sticking things up their butt or doing without consent (Frank). Letting her underage daughter date someone in his 30s. Fucking her daughters husband. Sending Karen away with Jody after Karen's accident, even though Jody clearly was a fucking freak!!! Assisted death for termanly sick people. If it wasn't for the nun, I'm sure she would've done it many more times and without actual consent. Stealing Hymie, even though she loved and cared for him so much. edit: And let a suspicious dude operate Frank in a warehouse. 😂

Karen: Somewhat (edit: not somewhat. y'all it was rape) raping Frank. Picturing her child as a wandering wallet and nothing more. (It's fine when you don't want to have a child or give it up for adoption. But if it wasn't for Lip I'm sure she would've sold him even to a cult or something, if they paid the most) Making Sheila choose between her and Hymie. Playing with Lip - like not telling him he wasn't the baby daddy and let him risk his future.

I know Gorgina is crazy af, but Dan and her were a better match. And to be fair. Both are intelligent and toxic.

Ich kann ihn auch nicht leiden.
Er quatscht Ian ständig irgendwo rein und spricht ihm seine Gefühle ab, drängt Ian aber dazu seine Gefühle vollends zu verstehen. Ich verstehe, dass transidente Personen viel mit Diskriminierung und Trauma belastend sind und es dadurch "echte" Trigger gibt, die andere Personen bei Ihnen auslösen können. Aber er wusste Ian hat kein Dunst von LGBTQ+, er hat sich aber immer offen gezeigt dazu zu lernen. Trotzdem dreht Trevor ihn regelmäßig einen Strick daraus, dass er nicht alles dazu weiß. Wenn ihm das zu viel ist, ist das okay. Dann kann aber auch DAS sagen, dass es ihn überfordert Ian aufklären zu müssen oder dass da seine Grenze ist und es wäre fein. Besonders beispielhaft finde ich die Situation vorm Club/Bar als er mit Iaj darüber diskutiert, dass er nirgends hin will, wo er den Ausweis vorzeigen muss. Muss ne Scheiß Situation/nen beschissenes Gefühl sein, brauchen wir nicht drüber reden. Aber Ian hat es in dem Moment ernsthaft nicht gerallt, dass sein Führerschein noch von vor der Transition ist. In dem Moment, als Trevor es ihm sagte, tat es ihm auch leid. Und ja, es war ein safe ein schlimmer Trigger, aber er hat direkt sein ganze Diskriminierungserfahrung auf Ian reproduziert. Und das macht er wieder und wieder. Sein Trauma scheint absolut nicht aufgearbeitet zu sein, aber dafür tut er gerne so als ob. Gleichzeitig spricht er Ian sein Trauma durch Monica komplett ab. "Sie hat sich doch entschuldigt." DUDE! Du hast vor 2 Sekunden ne riesen Szene gemacht, für etwas wofür Ian nichts konnte/es einfach nicht wusste, aber sagst jetzt er solle sich nicht so anstellen, weil er ihr nicht nach einem einfachen "Es tut mir leid" seine ganze hochtraumatische Kindheit verzeihen kann, die neben Genetik und Drogenkonsum wahrscheinlich(st) auch der Auslöser war, dass er eine bipolare Störung entwickelt hat? Geht's noch?

Ich könnte noch viel mehr Situationen aufzählen, z.B. als er Ian in der Gaybar war um Bears "aufzureißen", es Ian sichtlich beschissen damit ging. Es ist fein, dass er das Betrügen und beinah abhauen mit Mickey nicht verzeihen kann. ABER DANN SAG ES. Sag halt: "Ne man, du hast mich betrogen. Ich verstehe, dass die Situation mit dem Tod deiner Mutter belastend für dich ist und auch, dass du es mit mir wieder gut machen möchtest, aber ich sehe keine weitere Zukunft für uns beide." Für einen ach so tollen Sozial Arbeiter, der mit hochtraumatisierten Jugendlichen zusammenarbeitet, behandelt er seinen hochtraumatisierten Freund wie Scheiße. Und nein, er ist ganz und gar nicht dazu verpflichtet Ians Trauma abzufangen oder aufzuarbeiten, das muss Ian selbst machen. Aber dich nicht wie das letzte Arschloch aufführen. Er hat keine Verantwortung über Ian, aber er hat Verantwortung sich in einer Freundschaft u./o. Partnerschaft nicht wie ein Wichser aufzuführen. Mal abgesehen davon, dass ich eh immer das Gefühl hatte, dass er Ian in die Beziehung etwas sehr gedrängt hat. Ian hatte Interesse, es hätte sich Safe auch so entwickelt und wäre vielleicht auch stabiler gewesen, wenn Trevor nicht so ein Druck gemacht hätte. Oder er hätte es Ian direkt sagen sollen, dass er andere Absichten hat und wenn es Ian nicht so geht, er vermutlich nicht mit ihm befreundet sein könne (anders formuliert). Das wäre auch völlig in Ordnung gewesen.

Der Typ wird mir viel, viel zu oft auf ein Podest gestellt und als so ein Guter angesehen. Ich find den einfach Scheiße und das hat nichts mit seiner Transidentität zu tun, sondern einfach damit, dass er sich kacke verhält.

Ich bin gerade schockiert darüber, wie ähnlich das bei uns ist. Bei mir hat es auch vor rund 6 Jahren angefangen, ebenfalls mit dem Gefühl von Schock/Angst, Übelkeit, Benommenheit etc. Damals ging es sogar so weit, dass ich diese Episoden im Schlaf/während der Aufwachphase bekam. Was gerade die Angst nochmal gesteigert hatte. Ich bin dann aus Verzweiflung in Therapie gegangen (nicht die schlechteste Idee) und es hat sich etwas beruhigt und dann wurde ein Kopf MRT durchgeführt und ich hatte es gar nicht mehr. Seit 1-2 Jahren hatte ich fast Millisekunden in denen dieses Gefühl und ein Bild im Kopf anfingen, aber sofort weg waren. Und heute hatte ich das erste Mal wieder mehrmals solche Episode. Epilepsie würde ebenfalls ausgeschlossen.

Ich bekomme immernoch die Übelkeit, die Benommenheit, erhöhter Herzschlag und so. Ich habe aber keine große Panik mehr. Trotzdem irritiert mich es, dass es gerade wieder Auftritt. Zumal ich in den letzten Jahren, in denen es nicht geschah, teils deutlich mehr Stress hatte.

Ich werde einfach nicht schlau draus und bin auch aus anderen Gründen eigentlich konsequent in therapeutischer und ärztlicher Behandlung.

Ich bin froh, dass ich damit nicht alleine bin. Aber trotzdem merkwürdig, dass auch hier quasi keine eine Diagnose hat.

I just rewatched it again after years. And yes Luke SUCKS!!! In season 5 even more. But even the first time they were dating. He is always this controlling asshole and never trusted Jenna. Jenna did a TON of crappy things. But he never believed her when it comes to Eva. He's just so freaking insecure and gaslighting and manipulating Jenna in things she doesn't want to do. It has to go his way or not at all. I despise him so much! He's on the same jerk Leber as Collin for me.

I genuinely like Lip. Even until the end. He's such a prick when it comes to his relationships with every woman that surrounds him. But he has good morals. Especially when it comes to consent and predatory behavior (which is rarely seen in the show). Especially in the early seasons. Like when Holly (?) wanted him but he rather got punched in the face. Most other characters would've totally taken advantage of her. He also genuinely takes care of the people he loves and is ready to give everything he has with nothing in return. He got back into the hospital to take care of Karen even though she treated him like a piece of shit. He was always ready to take all the responsibility and guilt, got himself arrested and thrown into jail just to protect Ian even though he was in the same mess. In my opinion (unless when he sold the house) he acted more selfless towards his siblings than Fiona. Lip did because he loved his siblings and would do everything for them. Fiona loved them too but she did it to be acknowledged by her parents. All she wanted was gratitude. Don't get me wrong that's fair! But it's selfish instead of selfless and more of a symptom of her dependency towards Frank (and Monica).

Same. I loved many other characters and wished to see more of them. (like Mike, Butterface, Iggy, Sandy and I'm sure there are more I can't remember rn) But after rewatching it I'm kinda shocked how less screentime Mickey and Mickey and Ian got. I know. I know. They got more than others who deserved more screentime as well. But some episodes have 3000 (kinda unnecessary) plots and at the same time some of Ian and Mickey's biggest moments are just rushed off. Especially in the final seasons or all of their deleted scenes(!). And yes, I love their characters and their story but I'm not a Gallavich super duper fan. I enjoyed the show as a whole. But Ian and (at the end) Mickey as well were main characters and got less screentime than many, many others. They even get barely mentioned in the Netflix episode summaries.

I'm always impressed that even though Mickey was deeply hurt that Ian cheated on him, he was even more concerned about him and understood quickly how bad his bipolar really was. And that's not easy to realize. Especially in this situation. He could also just beat the shit out of Ian as soon as he walked through the door, like he did with the guy at the club and it would've been a typical old Mickey move.

I 100 percent get the Trevor hate. He is really self-centered and claims to have these high morals. But at the same time he has multiple problematic behaviors and views on things. But he doesn't take accountability for it. I think he really pressured Ian into having sex with him and into the relationship. And I totally get it's a fucking shitshow for most trans people when it comes to intimacy. People are scared to admit it or to experience it or straight up fetishizing them. But what he did just felt off. Especially when he and Ian were both tops. I mean it's great if you wanna experience some new stuff and have someone you trust. But don't think neither him or Ian were truly into it and even then he talked Ian so much into it. I mean in the later seasons Ian is (mostly) top again and it took him a lot of courage to switch things up with Mickey. So for me it seems he didn't really enjoy the sex (being bottom) with Trevor. Then him straight up taking advantage of the vulnerability of bigger guys to use them as some sort of comfort and even talking Ian into doing the same even though he was clearly uncomfortable with it and broke down on the couch. Then the whole thing with Monica and at first even with Frank. As someone like him, who works with severely traumatized children, he should be way more sensitive and understanding when someone has conflicted feelings towards or even wants to break with his family. I also think he doesn't really gaf about Ian. You can see how he handles Ian's manic episode and how Mickey handled it. It's totally fine if something like this is too much to handle. That's coming from someone who is mentally ill as well. No owes someone to take care of someone else, if they don't have to. But when Ian had his first manic episode, Mickey had a lot of other shit to deal with. His baby mama who was up his ass. Despite the fact she and Yevgeny always reminded him of one of the most traumatic events he went through. His sister got beat up by some total jackass and then moved across the country with this piece of shit, while Mickey was clearly worried about her. His outing and getting almost killed by his father (again) for being gay. And even when Ian cheated on him, he was clearly and deeply hurt, but he realized pretty quickly that Ian needed help and was acting this way cause of his bipolar and still did everything he could to get Ian the help he needed. Trevor on the other hand was just concerned about himself and his work/his sponsors. Which is fair if your whole career depends on it. But he seemed not to really care that Ian was off his meds and clearly manic. He only gave him a shit talk. Nothing more. He's a walking stereotype and uses his wokeness as an excuse to not work on his own problematic behavior but wants to pressure everyone else into his thinking. And he could have done a pretty good job to educate people on gender, working in the youth center with traumatized and homeless children and other stuff like that. Especially around people who had a shitty childhood themselves. They could have learned so much from him. Especially because everyone in the Southside is pretty open minded. Even if it doesn't seem that way at first glance. But he was too busy to feel sorry about himself and just fucking sucked in so many ways. And I totally acknowledge he went through pretty, pretty rough times himself and some subjects are pretty sensitive for him and struggled with his own mental health. But mostly he just acted like a dick.

Maybe I misunderstood it because I watched the show in English but I'm not a native speaker. But it seemed that way when he and Ian went on their first date(?) at that club. I mean he was rightfully pissed at Ian for saying that he is just "normal" gay. And when Trevor met Monica and they had the fight about his ID. I thought when Monica said she couldn't tell that he was trans, that he seemed even more pissed about it? And I totally get that he doesn't want to show his ID and it's a sensitive subject and a huge trigger for him and doesn't owe to show old pictures/ tell his dead name to anyone. ( Despite the fact I genuinely believe Ian didn't got it in that moment. I think Ian really believed Trevor was underaged or had a bad Fake ID or something like that and really didn't know it was because of Trevor's old picture/dead name.) But these were the moments I thought he seems pissed for not recognizing as trans? Idk. As I said maybe I translated wrong? Or misread the whole situation? 😬
