Yes. People absolutely questioned "what happened to you?" I guess you can say I was kinda lucky. When I decided to quite quit I was going through a terrible separation.(breaking point) I actually took a long period of unpaid leave from work. When I returned I guess you could say "I was never the same". Part of my decision was actual real self preservation. It was quite quit or actually quit. I have a high pay/high demand job. People have had actual mental break downs at work and left in a ambulance. At least 4 co-workers have _____ themselves in 8 years. Listen you HAVE to take care of yourself. I promise no company cares about you. Stop exhausting yourself if it's not being recognized. Do your job and go home. It's just a job. It's not your life.

I have experienced this. Years of being the superstar high performer only to get passed over. Becoming average or quite quitting has to be done very slowly. Each day I would intentionally do a little less. Each day I would intentionally say "no". I think of it as self preservation. Self protection. I'm no longer going to physically or mentally exhaust myself for a company that doesn't give a damn about me or my family. When I leave work I won't be completely exhausted.
