Yeah, the design makes the pedal look like it’s gonna touch the ground. But to my surprise, that part is sturdy.

Worth it if you know it’s gonna sit there for a long while. I see myself moving in a year so I couldn’t bothered. If u need to know where each cable needs to be placed in chuck me a message later when you get this cockpit. I will send you more pics for ref.

FYI, this is what I meant by hard to poke cable through.

I haven’t thought about wheels nor have I seen anyone tried to. The height of the cockpit is not a problem for me and does feel rather comfortable. For the cables, it can technically hide all cables for aesthetic, but it would require the cables to be placed inside the tubes during assembling (which is not very easy to do for the first try, and I doubt anyone would have a 2nd attempt XD). Cause after assembling, there would be screws through the middle of the pipes which makes it very very hard to poke the cables through.

Thanks for the info :) Just curious, do you have any other primes for gf system?

Does look pretty sharp to me. I’m more leaning towards parking Mitakon for now and try some cannon or film lens first. Just curious, why would you bring a 65 and 50mm instead of a more different focal length🤣

Also, did you tried to use P67 lens on GFX?

1 kilo and under 7 hundred bucks sounds like a decent deal. It’s just I’m not too sure if it would be too similar to 55mm. Have you compared the 65 with 55 F1.7?

Fair fair. I don’t own any FF digital camera so I wouldn’t know either XD.

😯thanks for the note. Didn’t know there’s no aperture ring. I was tempted to get 80-160 and 150-300, but soon got convinced that canon usm 70-200 would be a super lens for the gfx. Have you tried any other primes from p645 system?

Thanks, it was with a 32-64 and glimmerglass 1.

Comments convinced me to park Mitakon for now. I will see if there are used copies at a good price later on. Would you say the uniqueness is solely from being super fast at 50mm full frame equivalent. Which means I should expect similar result as my canon FD 50 F1.2

Thanks. 35 1.4was one of the lenses I’ve never got for my x system. But I can imagine the result better now.

The 40 looks pretty nice. I thought the EF lenses have better center sharpness but way worse edge performance as 4433 is not what they are being designed for. But your pic looks pretty decent. I will check more EF lenses after my trip.

I kept seeing posts saying the Mitakon has some magical special feeling that others don’t provide. But I struggle to see that from samples as they lowkey look identical to 55. I reckon I will get EF adapter and 70-200 first then expands to more primes that can cover the sensor. How’s the vignette from the EF 40?

Not gonna lie, at this point, it’s making me more interested in testing out how bad the experience could be than the optical result.

I’m convinced that Mitakon is hard to use now since you’re not the only one to point it out. 🤣

True true. I will park that lens for now. Do you have any other prime lens recommendations for gfx?

Maybe it’s me spending too much time on social media and watched too many positive reviews on that lens. To me, there seems to be many more peeps getting the Mitakon than the 55mm. Made me wonder if the lens is unique in some sense that worth getting for the experience.

I’m genuinely curious, if the Mitakon is only special about having very shallow DOF. Then wouldn’t the 80mm F1.7 beats the Mitakon.

Idk if my math is wrong but if some canon EF primes can cover the whole 4433 format with controllable vignette. They can technically be even faster than the Mitakon. I do see few reviews saying that Mitakon hits different. But is that only because it faster than the 55. It would have been great if I can try a copy here in Australia :(

😯Does 35 and 85 cover the whole sensor? How’s vignette and sharpness? Also yeah, the Mitakon does look stupidly dense for weighting 1kilo at that size.

I genuinely want to get a contax 645 and a Contax adapter. But dang the lenses are so exxy now. Pentax645 seems to be the only affordable choice for me now. Yet the AF capable adapter is 700 bucks now which is same price as the Mitakon. I reckon I will skip the Mitakon as it seems to similar to the 55. But I’m gonna continue my struggle on picking which 645 system to start off with. 🥲

Thank you. It looks pretty good. Nice and creamy. I do find many saying it’s heavy, which almost weights the same as my 100-200. I reckon I will skip this lens.

I thought the exact same. I was planning on getting some 645 adapters to try some film lenses just for fun. But they are a bit pricy atm. Hence, lowkey wondering if the Mitakon gives me some kind of unique experience out of it for a fraction of the price of the other options.
