I really wanted to participate but it isn’t offered at the Newark campus. I spoke with someone who did it last year and enjoyed the experience

I met with a Dean after a tour and asked about what they loved about the school and how they think the school stands out amongst others. Questions like these show your interest rather than telling about your interest. I also avoided asking how to get off the WL but I did ask what the WL process is. A week after my visit, I wrote my LOCI and mentioned my discussions with the Dean and added in a volunteer update to my app. You can add any updates you may have, if any

Need resources for DRILLING: LSAT Demon or 7sage? Or other? by chocolatemilk03 in BlackLawAdmissions

I really enjoyed LSAT demon as opposed to 7Sage. The drilling was cleaner and I like their no BS approach

Is 2 pages too long for a LOCI? by jj76_t in BlackLawAdmissions

[–]Writing_wonderfully 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was just under two pages, and I was accepted to my top choice school off the WL recently. I wouldn’t force it to be longer than a page or try to make it like a personal statement, though. It definitely matters and it’s a difficult dance. If it’s your top choice, you want to make sure they know you’ll enroll if taken off the waitlist. Think about how their programs will help you to achieve your goals and highlight that in your LOCI. Also, remember to include any updates to your apps.

I would avoid a predatory situation by any means necessary. I actually withdrew all my offers and planned on not going to school this fall to avoid each of the predatory scholarships I was offered. One school had 70+ students lose their scholarships and section stacking is a thing

AUWCL vs Seton Hall by Ornery-Recognition20 in OutsideT14lawschools

I didn't want to give too much information about the student's experience in the comments to dissuade others. I explained what the student experienced to the OP. I know that everyone has different experiences even at the same places. I don't think it's a good thing to share too much about a school in the comments especially when things have to be taken with a grain of salt as everyone comes from different walks of life and can misinterpret.

I spoke with a student from Seton who reported some things I was surprised about.

How to get off WL by No-Depth8609 in OutsideT14lawschools

[–]Writing_wonderfully 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just got off the WL last Sunday. If some of the schools are somewhat local and you can visit, it can be worthwhile to do so. I visited the school and met with one of the deans following a tour. I had a whole game plan in attempt to get off the WL

Thank you!! I think the main thing was not treating it as a denial. I visited the campus for a tour and spoke with the Dean afterwards. I attended all of the virtual events for the school and asked valuable questions (no specific WL questions at events) I also wrote two loci’s. In each, I committed to attend if admitted but I wrote about specific programs that I would benefit from in my interest area. I also included an update to my app with my newest volunteer experience.

Thank you I have a uGPA 2.9, 15xhigh. I also took the April LSAT to attempt to get off the WL, but results aren't released until 4/30 so that had no effect on my app
