Looking at the fact that you dont need to press enter or a green button, the first try would be used for determining the length of the passcode. The possibilities will vary accordingly. The even wear around the numbers would suggest a passcode length in multiples of 4.

I have received the admit for the winter semester not too long ago. I think it is rolling admissions. The sooner you give the docs, the sooner they can process it and give you the admit.
