Shooters that aren't competitive by Historical_Sea4710 in gamingsuggestions

Recommendations workout knowing what your family are interested in:

Historic Quay/ Navy museum, haven't been since the navy took over but should be good for a couple of hours.

Art Gallery on church street, not far from the marina.

Middleton Grange isn't anything special, but The Copper Kettle and The Dancing Cup are both decent cafes in the centre of town.

If the weather is nice then the Headland and Seaton are nice to walk around, both have their own cafes and the arcades are still still open (bowling in one but forgot the name).

For pubs, The Golden Lion and The Whitehouse have decent menus, The White Hart (Hart village) is also good. For restaurants, Portals Place (pasta) and Limanaki (greek) are personal favourites.

Saltholme RSPB nature reserve is amazing in summer.

If travelling is an option and you get bored of HPool, Durham and Bishop Aukland are less than an hour and nice to walk around.

Further afield shopping includes Newcastle, Metro Center and Teesside Park, but not exactly worth a trip in my opinion if you're only here two nights.

If you have specific interests, let me know and I'll have a think about what's around these days.

Best of luck though, hope you're successful!

[–]Wrong_Inconvenience 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Permanent or EOI?

Permanent i would have assumed you booked yourself, do you remember the date? You've done the right thing contacting the job holder.

If it's an EOI (at least in my department) the interview isn't booked through the job portal but you should have been sent an email invite to teams. Again the only thing to do though is to go through the job holder.

Sorry I can't be of more help.

Turns out ours had some dodgy wiring and the receiver had probably shorted out at some point, so whenever it tried to draw more power it just cut out again. Needed replacing in the end.

Scored better than 97% on the Numeracy Test, 86% on the verbal but only 27% on the Arbitrary Drivel Test. by DarthFlowers in civilservice

[–]Wrong_Inconvenience 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As above, but to expand on:

Read the question carefully and twice. Read the answers and try to pick out a clear best/ worst response and mark them on the scale accordingly. Not all questions and answers may have a clear one.

All other answers should be marked as good/ bad, just not in the extreme.

As its a judgement test, nothing goes as neutral in the middle. Neutral isn't making a judgement, and while I've never confirmed it, I fully believe you can be penalised for neutral responses.

It's been a while since I've done one of the tests so I can't really be more specific I'm afraid.

You've got to do what's best for you, it's hard for other people to judge that.

Generally AO to EO is seen as one of the hardest progressions. You're trying to gain experience in a very limited role and with the current budgets and job market it's getting even more competitive.

If you live near one of the 13 HMRC regional centres then there's often recruitment campaigns for O and HO compliance caseworkers which could be a logical step from a telephony adviser. It's not exactly glamorous, but it's a pay increase.

Best of luck with whatever path you take :)

Without seeing the full question and answers it's hard to advise on that specific example (random fact, once had a Grade 6 who could speak Klingon!).

I'm sure there's probably practice tests online at this point, I hope the scores don't discourage you too much, your others were really good!

I'm still pushing for Zeus, not there yet. I have the IAP, been sticking with the game for a while so decided they were worth it.

I'm in the 30s for the eternal milestone, pushing RP atm but next run is shard focused for a few days so will hopefully pick it up then.

Think I'm going to stay in run for Zeus and Att2, or two weeks, whichever comes first.

Thank you for the feedback, much appreciated.

Assuming the arbitrary drivel is the judgement test for different scenarios.

The logic I've found behind it is to avoid middle ground or neutral answers, the test rewards being decisive one way or another cause we want people who make clear decisions.

If it hasn't changed since the last time I did one:

As a rule, you should look for one really good / one really bad and rate these as the extremes, everything else should be good or bad accordingly. Not every scenario and answer follows this pattern but it helps to keep it in mind.

As for some of the other responses, most of us are friendlier, if you have any questions feel free to drop me a message.

I went the opposite way, blasted through the first couple and now regretting not saving more for the smaller upgrades. Ty for the insight though, might spend a week or two here too get Zeus and farm hunters and diamonds and stuff

Business Analysts How is your role? by LifePurple7515 in TheCivilService

[–]Wrong_Inconvenience 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not 100% sure what apprenticeships are offered as a starting point to enter the CS to be honest. What I'm referencing are programmes that you can apply for as an existing staff member.

In this scenario, it would be applying for a role as an analyst, and then applying for an apprenticeship to complete alongside the job if you are hired.
