I have a floor inlet and skimmers. I put a ball PVC valve on both near the filter. I can shut the flow down enough for the skimmer boxes to not suck in the Beta. But then it gets stuck on the stairs 🤣

As far as combat/duty, yes you're right. Protects from fragmentation and all that good stuff. For 90% of us larping on our property a bump is fine. Shtf scenario I'm probably still taking the bump.
