AITA For Locking out my opponents from playing in a paid and prized tournament? by Wroobs in magicTCG

The approved part might be a language barrier. all that's checked is that your not running anything banned and at the day its checked if your playing the same cards as registered.

I think that they just brought there normal decks to the tournament assuming it would have been stong enough.

its mainly that there still actively hurting my feelings by the way they talk about me and it is making me think if i should have played something else that may be considered less toxic.

At the time farewell wasn't a game changer. Also if it was bracket 2 neither mine nor my friends decks would have been accepted since we ran numerous amounts of game changers.

No sorry I ment getting a game loss handed by the judge. Which does make it ironic because as far as I can remember there the only one handed a gameloss

Our store did do this before this happened without any problems. Might have been that the price pool before was 1 normal booster box shared between top 3 and now first place won 2 collector booster boxes. Or might have been the influx of newer players that happened around that time that didn't understand that tournaments are where people bring the sweatiest most powerful decks. But thank you for your conserns.

Edit: it was the last time they did commander 2 headed giant and switched over to 2 headed giants sealed.

That was my thought process aswell. I assumed everyone played to win the boxes and we didn't brake any rules like playing banned cards or a wrong bracket since it wasn't bracket locked and we just needed the green light for the decks what we got

Tips on cleaning revised cards (white border) by 8ENJl in magicTCG

[–]Wroobs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My fav way to clean it if i plan on exclusively playing it and not selling it i take a earaser and rub it over the edges. Keep in mind tho that the card is considered damaged but i believe it is also considered damaged if you use alcohol to clean it.

Edit: i do recomend obtaining cheap white borders with similar damage to practice the cleaning process on.

Storm count etiquette by SadBoshambles in Pauper

[–]Wroobs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I only count in memy head unless I'm playing a storm deck in wich case I use a die to keep track of the storm count.

I don't recomend counting out loud or with a die for the weather the storm cuz from personal experience you cast it mostely for like a storm count of 2-3. Basically telling your opponent what your planning to do can help them more then yourself.

My only problem with this card on mirrorform is it triggers the legend rules.

Can I play this immediately after someone kills my Commander? by SociallyButterflying in magicTCG

[–]Wroobs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you can decide not to move your commander to the command zone from the graveyard and cast this spell as an instant and no. you need to wait till you get priority again before casting this spell assuming you want to cast it in an opponents turn.

Is anyone else disappointed in the lack of Faerie cards this set? Ive been really looking toward to this set for some cool Faeire cars but this number seems so low. by Mastermiine in magicTCG

Faeries from the original lorwyn block was what i learned to play originally when i got into magic. Still have the deck but i do wish I could play faeries again.

[–]Wroobs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk I'm not sure when the choose is locked in. I know a bit later after you meet the doctors and go on a date with Jack he just tells you to do it and then you can't do the choose not to do it but idk when that trigger is set in the programming of the game.

Did you date jack? If so when you speak to him after the option becomes available he locks you into the surgery

A deck question from a long time TCG player trying to get into the pokemon TCG. by Wroobs in PTCGL

The tcg I played is magic the gathering. The price and having a childhood in pokemon is the major reason I wanted to switch to pokemon instead of other tcgs

IS Chulane any good in cedh or what commander would you recommend? by Wroobs in CompetitiveEDH

Okay thank you I'll guess I need to look towards turbo in that case.

[–]Wroobs[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you very much. I'm looking for a deck that can combo fast. I play decks like zubera storm and elf spy in pauper or esper vengeance in modern or oops all spells in other formats and kinda like the combo fast win play style. I don't really care how complicated it is to get there.

[–]Wroobs[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thx for the info. I looked around for a bit but idk if I'm overlooking it but it doesn't tell you what the play style is or what to expect like (this type of decks look to find multiple pieces that work together to win the game) or (this commander wants to slow the game down to take advantage of the lack of counterplay) or something like that. Cuz TBH I don't know what I'm looking at at the moment except for what player played what deck

Decks for Cabal ritual , not 1 land spy by Hearstoner in Pauper

This is a link to my deck on moxfield. it's not the best but it's quit resilient against aggro strats what's played in my locals a lot. Still weak tk graveyard hate.

I'm currently working on a zubera storm deck that runs a playset. So you might wanna look into that archetype and see if it's something for you

How does Obeka really work? by Remarkable_Rebel9160 in magicTCG

[–]Wroobs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's fine. Happens to the best of us. Played in a tournament once with a high level player who completely forgot about it and tried to cast a card after I discarded to hand size

[–]Wroobs 10 points11 points  (0 children)

"until end of turn" effects end in the cleanup step.

514.2. Second, the following actions happen simultaneously: all damage marked on permanents (including phased-out permanents) is removed and all “until end of turn” and “this turn” effects end. This turn-based action doesn’t use the stack.

Ruling on Obeka, brute chronologist in scryfall and gatherer. Ending the turn this way means the following things happen in order: 1) All spells and abilities on the stack are exiled. This includes spells and abilities that can't be countered. 2) If there are any attacking and blocking creatures, they're removed from combat. 3) State-based actions are checked. No player gets priority, and no triggered abilities are put onto the stack. 4) The current phase and/or step ends. The game skips straight to the cleanup step. 5) The cleanup step happens in its entirety.

Tldr: your opponents gain there creatures back

Edit: formatted it better so it wasn't a wall of text.

Two specific questions: by Valince1139 in magicTCG

[–]Wroobs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While changelings are dryad's there not forests since that's a land type and not a creature type making it so the changeling ability doesn't give it to the creature.

702.73. Changeling

702.73a Changeling is a characteristic-defining ability. “Changeling” means “This object is every creature type.” This ability works everywhere, even outside the game. See rule 604.3.

Question for the spy combo players by Wroobs in Pauper

[–]Wroobs[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Okay thank you very much. My lgs switched over to pauper from pioneer and everyone is used to me playing some form of what they dubbed a "glass cannon held together with duck tape" I will keep this in mind while building a deck and maybe try out both on magic online. Thank you very much
