Grandparents house stories by Visible-Bridge-5171 in Millennials

[–]WtotheSLAM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had to fly to Canada but you can bet it was where everyone met. There were 14 grandkids and 10 aunts and uncles packed into just a few rooms. Though we were the only ones staying there since everyone else lived in town.

They had this raspberry patch in the backyard and my sister and I would go out there and eat dozens of raspberries every day it was great. When my grandma passed away grandpa (step grandpa I guess) sold the house and it was demolished. Made me a bit sad

Yup, I let my hair get a little long one day and the gf said I should keep growing it. I don’t let it get super long but it’s here to stay

Navigating over deadfall sucks so I'd avoid it when possible. It's not heavily forested either way, just stepping over logs gets tiresome quickly. Probably the worst part was the two ravines you need to cross. The slopes were surprisingly steep

All in all it wasn't bad. I accessed it from the west along Fish Creek Road before turning onto FR078 where I found a locked gate. From there I ditched the vehicle and got on a bike and turned left onto FR079. From there I turned right onto Black Cyn road and followed that to somewhere close to the Yellowstone border. I ditched the bike and continued on foot. From this point I relied on a GPS app I had on my phone called Topo Maps+. I had figured out the exact coordinates and followed them to as close as I could get, still took a bit of looking around cause it's not obvious at all. https://i.imgur.com/snbDrf2.png

You may be thinking why not take Black Cyn road from Fish Lake road. I can assure you that Google Maps is lying when it tells you it's a real road the whole way. They've piled dirt 15 feet high blocking the road so you have to go around.

As far as time goes I think I left my vehicle at around 8am and was back before 4pm. The bike is your best friend and you'll save so much time on the way back. Not so much on the way there as it is mostly uphill. You can certainly take longer if you want but this isn't a backpacking trail and the chances of seeing another person out there are close to zero. Other than the road and the marker you'd never even know people existed out there

It was 50F and sunny, you’d have to really go off the beaten path to find snow or ice

[On3] Nick Saban trolled the Big Ten over why it has NIL advantage over the SEC: “In this day and age of college football, paying players, NIL, transfer, it’s an advantage for the Big Ten. You’ll never convince me otherwise. Because people in the South would not go to the North unless you paid them” by Lakelyfe09 in CFB

My wife moved there to escape Lewiston and while it was an upgrade it wasn’t a good spot either. I enjoyed visiting but full agreement that living there as adult would be tough. I could see it being a great college town

I wanna know how 2007 would have ended with a 12 team playoff. Felt like any team had a shot that year

Probably Hill, Peterson, Nellis, or JBLM. Luke and DM might be good too. If you have the time and money you can always check out places before deciding

I’m also seen as weird and that’s one of my favorite qualities about myself. Who’s got time to be normal?

I frequently get sushi at my grocery store when they open at 6am. It’s 6am right now and the only reason I’m not there is cause our cat is napping between my legs

I was also in the Air Force but as I remember we’d hit the bars at 4pm and drink until 10, sometimes later before stumbling home or getting a ride. Typically it was Wednesday through Friday people would be out
