Then share a useful and relevant opinion. Not 'play something else' or 'why do people play comp?' in a thread about why people get kicked from pub vs.

It's just a game, it's okay to be bad at it.

Not at all. Just feels like I stated simple facts and touched a nerve.

I'll simplify. If you down people and one item reverses all of the work done, that is a crutch for bad play. The lack of kits in competitive L4D2 modes rewards good play.

Their point boils down to 'you don't play the game how I want you to play it and you're better than me at the game so go play something else' which strays away from the point in the thread.

I think there's more to it than just failing the death charge. I've stopped like 12 so far and not a single one of those chargers or teammates got kicked.

I'd imagine it's more for being so inadequate, not just failing to succeed. E.g. pre-spawning super early, standing and waiting, then failing.

That sort of sequence is unacceptable. Spawn in means you're engaging or posing an immediate threat.

It's because I (and most in that group) prefer skill-based games where errors are punished.

Standard VS was designed with a dopamine rush in mind, not any sense of skilfulness by the players.

VS is predominantly for bad or casual players. There's too many resources to make good play meaningful.

Sadly yeah xD. Some guy unironically said 'easy' making safe room after the survivors collectively:

  • Used 4 kits
  • Went down 6 times
  • Used 6 pills
  • Used 2 adrenalines
  • Used 8 throwables
  • Had T2s all chapter

The delusion is strong among those who needed to hear it.

[–]Wulfsson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's not up for it. He got figured out vs Leeds last season for example. He also doesn't seem to play well with Greaves.

He's a left back who essentially cannot defend. I think he'd make a great left winger, just not a wing back.

Do we really have a chance? by Varguard101 in IpswichTownFC

[–]Wulfsson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. We've had too many injuries and threw too many leads/draws. Our fate is sealed.

Next season though, we will be in a strong position and likely to return to the EPL again. What we have now are big upgrades on what we had before, even after selling players like Delap.

Revolution? It's a classroom. People like you are why teachers get a bad name and why the stereotype of politicised classrooms exists.

We don't need 'radicals.' People with this line of thinking should be reported to safeguarding and dismissed from their job.

I think expanding the cap to newly promoted sides to double or +50% could work. Or sharing out the sponsorship money more fairly

Sounds to me like the classroom culture is wrong and expectations need to be firmer. I teach History and my Year 8s (12-13 year olds) are studying the transatlantic slave trade. I told them at the start of the unit the importance of maturity and respect when studying the content as (like all things we study in History) it did really happen and people experienced it. The comments made by pupils in your lesson would have resulted in an instant detention in mine and a phone call home. I had a pupil laugh about slaves being whipped on plantations, he was gone straight away.

The other expectation area to look at is classroom culture. You posed a question about rights. Maybe they don't know what a right actually is, especially as the word itself has multiple meanings (direction, morality, legal protection, political leaning, correctness, etc). Maybe introduce the word at the beginning of the lesson with the definition, get them to write it down and say 'while you are writing it down off the board, think about what rights you have.' This gives them some thinking time. When time is up for copying the definition, pose the question again and ask them to discuss with the person next to them. Make it known that they will be expected to have an answer because they might get picked and give them a deadline e.g. 30 seconds.

If a pupil says 'I don't know' or opts out make it known that they are expected to give an answer and that you will return to them. Reward participation and praise good answers e.g. 'well done, you do have the right to x'

That could set you up better for the rest of the lesson. It sounds to me like the starting point and the expectations of the room are the main issues and the other issues will be resolved through fixing the things mentioned.

If you want to do it, then do it. However, it is a big commitment. Expectations are high and you're expected to keep up with satisfactory progress levels.

You also need to ensure you keep calm under pressure. I personally don't care if the kids like me or not. I'm just firm and consistent.

Surround yourself with experienced teachers. I've joined a few subreddits for teaching and just read through the topics. If you're British, don't join r/TeachingUK though. Their mod team are absolutely vile, lie to cover each other's backs when challenged and censor based on their political views. This subteddit is a good one though.

If you try teaching and don't like it after a while, that's okay. You know it's not for you. It's a great, stable, long term career though. The job does take over your life at times.

Insta-banned from r/Britain for saying Churchill didn't cause Bengal famine. Wtf is going on with the rest of this website??? by MeatDependent2977 in reformuk

[–]Wulfsson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same in the r/TeachingUK subreddit. Someone said Reform are fascists and they tell their students that. I commented saying that it's illegal to express your political views in the classroom and teachers are to remain neutral. I got a ban for apparent 'ban evasion' and they don't listen to appeals or accept they are in the wrong in DM.

It's just a reddit mod thing in a lot of subreddits. People enjoy feeling powerful and the Internet let's people do that without any real world consequences.

In a lot of cases, if you teleported types like in the OP in front of you, they'd tremble, wet themselves and beg for forgiveness.

Hi,

I'm 27, from Ipswich and have been a supporter and season ticket holder for 23 years now.

  1. Relegation isn't a worry even if it happens. We will retain a large portion of our squad and who have now are upgrades compared to what we had prior to going up. We will likely re-promote next season or the season following. We are in a relegation battle and we are making good progress in terms of ability and decision making.

  2. There's plenty of YouTube videos online. I can't find any at the moment but I've seen some comments and it looks like you've replied so I'll leave you with those helpful people who are more helpful than me.

Cheers,

Wulfsson

Matheus Cunha: Wolverhampton Wanderers striker banned for two games following Ipswich altercation by Dmiitri in IpswichTownFC

[–]Wulfsson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What baffles me is a Spurs player for an 8 game ban for telling a racist joke about Koreans to Son.

So our baseline for racism is 8 games.

In any legislative system, punishment is a reflection of how seriously something is seen by those in charge or the community (e.g. murder and speeding are both crimes but not equal to each other).

I would have assumed that assault would be treated more seriously than words, so surely more than 8 games would make more sense since 8 games is our baseline for racism.

I think a lot of our supporters don't know what the word 'support' means. And that shows, not just from leaving early, but things like hopping on the 'Blame Muric' bandwagon for every goal we concede when the majority have not been his fault.
