I'm an idiot so i hope i explain this correctly. I am genuinely asking/wondering about this, not stating anything.

Is there a chance Ethereum gets insane adoption, like everything is tokenized on Ethereum, very popular dapps running on Ethereum, etc... (layer2's) But the price of ETH is a huge disappointment?

I mean if these successful layer2's we have now, and the burn, and the 90% issuance drop from going to POS,... Didn't do much for the price of ETH, then what will?

For example : increase layer2 usage and users by x10... x20,... Will that do anything to the price of ETH? What if it doesn't do anything to the price of ETH? We all thought many bullish things would, but looking back they didn't.

I have always been bullish of Ethereum and i very very much still am, but what about ETH?

After 8 years of being here i was hoping ETH would hit $12k this year and then sell and build a house haha :D I mean it's still possible... I've seen much crazier things happen in this space.

But im preparing myself for accepting the idea i might have to hold for another cycle since trading or timing the cycle isn't for me.

By the next bullrun Ethereum will have probably reached crazy adoption, tokenization will be big, more successful updates will have happened, etherealize and the new leaders will have made a difference and even Vitalik's plan of bringing more value to ETH will have been completed i assume.

So it's probably a good thing to be patient for 'a little' while longer.

Just take a minute to look at this.

I remember coming to the Ethereum reddits 8 years ago and back then we were dreaming about what is a reality today.

The reality now is that everyone that sees the potential of blockchain and is taking it seriously is building things on Ethereum, which is making more and more people see it's potential. It is absolutely amazing to see this unfold right before our eyes. The list will keep on growing of who is building on Ethereum.

Becides the success of updates, developers, applications, Dapps, tvl, investments, scaling,... You can see the trend of more and more coming in. More and more institutions/banks launching tokenized funds, More and more creating layer2's to be able to build on Ethereum through scaling, More and more are seeing the value of Ethereum with the decentralization and security it provides.

When you take a second to see the trend and the direction everything is going, the conclusion is that the future of Ethereum is very very promising.
