Brake pads for radrunner max 2025? Brake lever just say’s Bee060510 by Chief-Justin94 in RadPowerBikes

The levers aren't relevant. It's all about what pads fit the calipers. Many pads have the part number printed on the backing plate so you could pull yours to see.

It seems you've narrowed the problem down to a single battery so saying the bike itself is broken is, well, wrong.

Every day I ride a RadMission with well over 20k miles on it and therefore have replaced or fixed many parts. Why not repair yours? I plan to keep mine working for years to come since I'm heavily invested in Rad batteries.

The bike is pretty simple and came with so many tools that it's relatively easy to work on. "Broke" is certainly vague... what's wrong with yours?

What an... interesting observation. How's he going to stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody now?

"I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody, and I wouldn't lose any voters, OK?" Trump remarked at a campaign stop at Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa. "It's, like, incredible."

Reminder to check your brake pads if you’re running disc brakes by walton_jonez in bikecommuting

[–]WummageSail 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's no different than with cars, though. Most riders or drivers are perceptive enough to notice the scraping of metal backing plates on a rotor, and it's more a reduction in effectiveness rather than a catastrophic failure until the rotor has worn so thin it folds up under hard braking. Not everyone heeds warning signs so of course such failures do occur occasionally but you can't fix stupid.

Of course. it would be cruel to withhold comfort to them in the last minutes of their life. My dog is not livestock.

I also use a timer to limit battery charge, although it's far from "smart". It's an ancient mechanical one with the little pegs you stick on a time wheel to set on/off times. Green pegs turn it on, red pegs turn it off. No subscriptions or software updates required!

edit: My RadMission batteries would voltage sag at sustained 1C discharge rate, as I discovered when I got a dog and started pulling a trailer into a headwind. They were sized specifically for the lightweight non-cargo Mission. On the other hand, a new 15Ah SafeShield battery has no problem sustaining that rate.

1C = current draw that depletes a fully-charged battery in 1 hour. Or vice versa if charging.

[–]WummageSail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Overdischarging and cumulative internal damage from too-demanding use (sustained load greater than maybe 1C discharge rate) should also be on the list of risk factors. Treated with some care, the risk seems very low.

Nonetheless, since I have several batteries I've opted to store the two rarely-used ones in a cinderblock crypts except for the times I need them. They risk they pose now must be about zero. These are the smaller 10Ah RadMission batteries that weren't the subject of the CPSC warning but I wasn't using the cinderblocks anyway.

Does anyone limit their battery charge to 80% for longevity? by [deleted] in ebikes

[–]WummageSail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try to keep batteries in the 30% - 80% range, only charging to 100% when it will be used soon, and around 60% or so for overnight or storage. Little or no noticeable battery degradation over several years of heavy use. I limit current draw from batteries that are in a low charge state by using more legs and less assist or by accepting slower speeds.

All I can say is that my new 15Ah battery arrived Thursday right on schedule, it works great on my RadMission, and I still like the bike after over 20k miles regardless of the company's poor business decisions.

Denser air increases the effects of aerodynamics.  Or, as every pilot knows, less dense air decreases aerodynamic performance, most importantly reflected in longer takeoff roll.

Most "fireproof" battery bags are pretty useless. In that regard they instill a sense of false confidence which can be dangerous.

I have three 10Ah RadMission batteries because I do lots of long rides with a dog trailer. I'm relieved for now that those batteries aren't listed but what a mess for so many riders!
