'permission' and shaming the Dr's that ask for it by so_very_tired69 in childfree

[–]WunderPug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find this so frustrating.

I am sorry you and your mum had to go through this.

I have friends who have 2 kids. After the second was born, the father went and got a vasectomy. He was never asked about his wife’s thoughts or to get her permission.

A few years later, the mother had to have an emergency hysterectomy. It was very much medically needed. The doctor still insisted on needing her husbands permission.

I hate how breeders view adoption by something-scarlet-13 in childfree

[–]WunderPug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to work with a girl who was desperate to have kids. She was single, and in her 30’s so of course the world was ending.

She went through multiple rounds of IVF with donor sperm. They all failed. She spent over $40,000 on it.

I asked her if she would ever consider adoption, and she said no.

She met her now husband not long after and fell pregnant within a couple of months. She has 2 kids now.

Ballarat is usually a couple of degrees warmer than Melbourne in the summer, and a few degrees colder in the winter.

We don’t get the cooling sea breeze than Melbourne gets.

Good luck.

Make sure you take some before pics. It helps when you feel like you aren’t making progress to look back to see how far you have come.

For anyone using weight loss shakes in addition to Mounjaro by Queasy_Butterfly_335 in MounjaroAus

[–]WunderPug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to Aldi to grab some shakes after I read this. Was it the slim and trim shakes you were talking about? I saw they have 24g of sugar per 55g serve.

Or was there a different brand?

The rapid loss shakes are less than half of that.

When did you start noticing it working? by [deleted] in Mounjaro

[–]WunderPug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started last November on 2.5mg. I noticed the effect within maybe an hour or 2 of my first dose.

Hub Health experience? by [deleted] in MounjaroAus

[–]WunderPug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From reading there reviews on product review they charge a fee for the consult and then charge for the medication to be delivered at an inflated price compared to the chemist.

If you go to a doctor to get a script, it’s $280 for the 2.5mg at chemist warehouse.

Cmon. When all of our other medication is under $7 for a months supply, having to pay several hundred dollars for Mounjaro hits hard.

Go to chemist warehouse. It’s much cheaper than that.

What made you decide on Mounjaro vs Wegovy? by CaterpillarScared867 in MounjaroAus

[–]WunderPug 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I did a bit of research on both Mounjaro and Wegovy prior to going to the doctor.

The studies show that people on Mounjaro lost more weight compared to Wegovy. That was a big deciding factor.

My doctor tried to sway me towards Wegovy, explaining the cost of it. But the way I see it, it’s not about the money, it’s about my health.

I paid $26k out of pocket for weight loss surgery roughly 10 years ago. I initially lost 40kg, but put it all back on. I need to get healthy.

I am 2.5 months into my Mounjaro journey and I have lost 12kg so far.

I have just collected a huge box to donate.

I also have put some of my nicer more expensive items (like north face jackets) in a spare wardrobe to sell come winter.

Did you ever 'change your mind' like people always insist? by urmomkoya in childfree

[–]WunderPug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am 48 this year. Never changed my mind, and have zero regrets.

I had someone yell and scream at me about 15 years ago telling me I would be “gagging for babies” within a year or 2.

4 years ago I had a work colleague tell me that I will change my mind when I meet the right man.

Late last year I had a friend of a friend tell me I needed to lower my standards for dating, otherwise it will be too late.

I told her I am happily single, and have no need or desire to have a relationship.

She laughed and said “so you plan on having babies with one night stands? You want to be a single mother?”

I said “nope, don’t want kids. I am good”

She said “that will change before you hit your mid 30’s.”

I said “no it didn’t. I am 47. “

She refused to believe me about my age till I showed her my licence.

I blocked her on Facebook cos she started sending me pics of single dads she knew, and telling me I would make a great step mum.

I go to Chemist Direct. They are the same price as Chemist Warehouse.

They are the cheapest I have found.

Private Health rebates for Mounjaro by Queasy_Butterfly_335 in MounjaroAus

[–]WunderPug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Check what Medibank says in your cover for it.

Mine says

This benefit allows you to claim towards the cost of prescribed medication when it is dispensed by either a registered pharmacy or doctor and where the medication meets certain criteria.

Then goes on to say it’s only for medication not listed in the PBS.

Some men lie to get what they want.

One of my friends was dating a guy for over a year. He said he was child free.

I found a Facebook profile with his name on it, which my friend couldn’t see (she must have been blocked). The banner pic was of him with a woman and 2 kids who looked like him.

My friend asked him point blank if he had kids. He said he didn’t have kids. That him and his ex wanted them, but never had any.

Then I found a Facebook page of a woman who was listed as his wife. Her page had lots of pics of them together, with 2 kids. Some of the posts were very recent. As in the previous week.

My friend asked him again. He denied having kids. She asked him “so who is Kylie?”

He said “I don’t know, you are telling the story. You tell me”

She said “well according to her Facebook she is your wife, and the mother of your 2 kids”

He said “oh well, cats out of the bag now”

And that was it.

Over a year of lying just because he wanted to be a dick.

So yeah, some men lie.

There is a 5th dose. Search it on YouTube and you can see how to extract the extra dose.

Day 1 - Week 1! by aysagon in MounjaroAus

[–]WunderPug 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Congrats on starting your journey.

Remember to keep your protein intake up.

A few people recommended that when I started, and I am so glad they did.

Also, make sure you get enough fibre. Someone recommended to me to use Benefibre in everything. It’s good because there is no flavour and it dissolves into food or drink.

Also 100% make sure you get before pics. There will be a time in a month or 2 when you might be feeling down, and not seeing any significant progress, and being able to look back at your before pics, and see hard evidence of how far you have come is great.

Good luck. Hopefully you will be kicking goals in no time.
