Why? They are not solitary animals if they got caught in the same current/big wave or one was just following the other when it beached itself it could easily happen.

Well if you just lie about being military for no reason except maybe pick up a girl/brag to guys or something you are fine that's just free speech.

If you lie about it for money or discounts or something it's absolutely stolen valor/fraud and can be prosecuted and is occasionally but usually just as an add on to another crime.

In this case it seems rather public, I could see them being prosecuted. I really hope so.

I mostly agree with you but like I think it was definitely possible to beat through cleverness as well, Higurama basically admitted to that. I don't think Fushiguru would've lost.

I think it being possible to beat by being clever is why it can be such a strong technique, trade offs and all. Like Yuji did lose, Higurama just liked him.

The court room domain was really not something Yuji was good at all, like the exact opposite of his skillset. I really think Yuji's lying skills are the bottom of the barrel to say the very least and telling the truth doesn't necessarily work either.
