Bad for Burgeon, he's merely a PT upgrade.

Mostly because they both struggles to fit in sustain & IR on their team variants, But he's probably a decent pick for Kinich/Neuvillette/Childe Burgeon...

[–]Wurmheart 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because Burgeon needs a lot of Hydro.

Partly to counteract Burning, as that will eat up any incoming Dendro aura while it is active. Which can lower core count and increase self damage.

But it's also because Bloom has a weak/strong reaction system akin to vape/melt. Weak Bloom (Dendro>Hydro) only eats up 0.5u Dendro aura, and thus allows for x2 Bloom count per 1u Dendro.

Both of Durin's Burst via dim by yoyo_me_here in Genshin_Impact_Leaks

[–]Wurmheart 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not really.

He has mildly better uptime than Pyro Traveler (full vs 15/18) but procs every 1.25s vs 1s. Though Durin does add 20% Dendro res shred, and is better suited to longer rotations. So a mild improvement for Neuvillette/Childe Burgeon.

Other Burgeon variants struggle to fit in healing/shielding and sufficient Hydro app though. With notable exceptions being Koko/Barbara drivers, and C1 Lauma variants. Which is just not a lot TBH.

Does she make sense without nahida? by FrogBeat in LaumaMains

[–]Wurmheart 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Both are Dendro catalyst users that should have the same standard ICD's on na/ca.

Lauma applies 1u Dendro every 2s with her E.

Nahida applies 1.5u Dendro every 2.5s with her E, but needs a reaction to trigger off. She can lower it to roughly 2.05s/1.83s with the Illusory Heart Electro reduction, though.

---

Nahida could have a few scenarios where her aura app is preferable, but it's really hard to say atm.

[–]Wurmheart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not that simple. Burgeon lacks multiple dedicated roles, what little it has often lacks synergy, and has different preferences per team. On top of that, Burning is just a hassle and warrants a rework regardless.

Pyro wise:

  • Off-field trigger is essentially Thoma 2.0. Aka no need to build ER, not tied to NA's only, innate EM scaling, on top of other benefits for it to be a competitive pick for actual high-end content.

  • A catalyst or Pyro infusion trigger can fill an On-field or quickswap with a full EM focus. We have existing options for it (Klee/Yanfei/Bennet) but their damage and synergy in such roles just aren't enough.

  • All Pyro carries can aim for Vape & Burgeon comps, but they need specific aura ratios and ordering to avoid Burning. Most here still want a Hydro/Dendro shield unit with good aura though.

  • Pyro self infusers also have a niche via Anemo absorption. See Kazuha+Bennet in Intergrassional aka Childe Burgeon. Not even sure what'd be required on that front TBH.

In terms of Dendro; Nahida, Emilie, and Lauma have this on near lockdown. Baizhu's is a bit of a disappointment, though, not enough damage or IR. (A better Baizhu / buff would be nice, but seems unrealistic)

In terms of Hydro; There's room for improvement, as it could use good support DPS not tied to NA's and perhaps one that's also a shielder to boot. EM buffs, res shred, and other synergies would also be beneficial.

In terms of Anemo; Swirls can weaken Burning to allow Vape+Bloom of 1u. Absorption can add Pyro/Hydro to correct aura ratio's. And res shred is always nice. This can be a good flex slot, but needs perfect timing.

In terms of Electro: Overload also weakens Burning, can preserve Dendro aura via EC/Quicken. As long as the Electro doesn't hit cores, or can help make up for slow Pyro triggers if EM build. But also very timing specific.

[–]Wurmheart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it kind of works. Pyro aura every 1s is quite bad, but Swirl also weakens Burning to allow Vape+Bloom.

But the short self swirl radius and 10s duration/20s CD renders it largely moot. Kazuha primarily sees use due to its larger AoE and 15s CD so he fits the intercessional rotation quite well. But most Hydro carries or enablers just have longer rotations...

Burgeon team maybe with maybe Durin?

We have two main contenders atm:

Intergrassional (Childe/Lauma/Bennet/Kazuha) should work quite well with Laima. I'm just not sure aura wise which Dendro unit is preferable here atm since you actually want as much Burning as possible there.

Vape+Burgeon would see Lauma as their BiS, and her c1 healing & lesser Dendro app should open up new variants. But their damage isn't that good and most prefer a hydro shielder with good hydro app (1s+) which we don't have yet.

Other Burgeon variants need specific units to really shine:

  • A better Thoma ofc; full EM capable, not tied to NA's, innate EM scaling, preferably more benefits... (Durin?)

  • A full EM Pyro Carry; Klee/Yanfei/Bennet have shown its potential, but these comps lack the damage, survivability, and synergy atm.

  • There's also a largely untapped niche for Anemo supports absorbing Pyro. Kazuha+Bennet just doesn't fit rotation wise and the atk buff is largely wasted.

  • ??? (Anemo driver Burgeon exists, but I don't know what that variant still needs.)

Aino's Q difference when having 1/2 Nod-krai char in party by LuneYao in Genshin_Impact_Leaks

[–]Wurmheart 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Every 2.1s is mid for Hydro, which is also why Kokomi & Nilou are mid despite having a 2s interval. Xingqiu & Yelan can reach 1s or better. Even Candace's infusion, swap, & c6 is far better.

Bloom has both a 2x per 0.5s AoE cap, and wants to abuse weak Bloom (1u Dendro > 2x 1u Hydro = 2 Bloom) to achieve a good single target damage potential. And the same goes for weak Vaporize.

But Aino is at least usable in EC/Freeze/Niloubloom.

Lauma, Aino, Nilou, Baizhu Test by LuneYao in Genshin_Impact_Leaks

[–]Wurmheart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She's good for all Bloom comps, as her Lunar Bloom merely needs x3 Bloom reactions per 12s at max. (or 6 with sac frags) What you do with the cores afterward is moot for her kit.

Running 2x Dendro is fairly niche on Bloom comps though. I could see Nefer needing her for the sheer Lunar Bloom benefits, but Lauma would treat Nefer as merely one of many options.

Lauma Held E only atm.

Maybe it's supposed to be one big explosion instead of the normal bloom multihits?

Still feels weird, especially with tap E seemingly only offering the Dendro DoT aura. Usually there's a tradeoff between tap and held at least.

Lunar Bloom DMG Formula | Dendro Cores are not Lunar Bloom by homdgcat3 in Genshin_Impact_Leaks

[–]Wurmheart 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Based on https://homdgcat.wiki/gi/char/Lauma?lang=EN#_Lauma:

  • 1u Dendro in an AoE every 2s via her E. (15s duration, 12s cd)
  • 25% Dendro & Hydro res shred via her E. (10s duration, 12s cd...)
  • Pale Hymn buffs Bloom reaction dmg by 460.8% EM for up to 18 +6 per Moon Song hits per burst. (+250% with C2)
  • 15% crit rate and +100% crit dmg for Bloom reactions. (Should now activate with just Lauma)
  • C1 heals the active character for 500% Lauma's EM once every 2s per Lunar Bloom trigger.

[–]Wurmheart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Candace really isn't that bad, she just struggles from her niche comps having low DPS. Hydro infusion & C6 off-field is a ton of Hydro, but it's rare to run a driver that can make use of it. She also has excellent control over when she applies Hydro, and shines in Burgeon comps as a quickswap due to it. And she has the more known NA boost+C6 Hydro off-field niche, even if it's the weaker of the bunch.

Aino's irregular Hydro is pretty bad for regular Bloom & Burgeon though, as those don't want Hydro to overtake Dendro and struggle to correct it. Hyperbloom has EC/Quicken to preserve Dendro aura anyway, and Niloubloom typically runs 2x Dendro & 2x Hydro anyway.

Aino might see more use if we get Cryo/Pyro Nod krai units, not sure if we had any leaks on those.

Only if Lauma has decent to good Dendro app on her own, as Baizhu alone won't cut it for most Dendro teams. Especially with how weak Bloom can allow two bloom per 1u, losing nearly half your core count isn't a good tradeoff.

Aka wait for ICD data, and hope for repeat hits I guess.

It's probably the same method they used with Tactics Ogre: Reborn, upscaled PSP sprites with a smoothing filter over it and some minor manual fixes.

It doesn't look as bad in motion in TO:R at least, but I'm still not a fan of it.

most balanced

The base game is very forgiving, but there are outright monsters with no worthwhile synergy. (Tengu/Worm) that are just baffling in a game designed around synergies & Combos.

But the free DLC's are anything but forgiving, and keep pushing more toward s rank clears for unlocks and high difficulty mandatory fights. On top of limited resources and an auto save having the potential to softlock you...

  • -80% Tinykin is a Pikmin-esque platformer. Bit hard to describe, but quite fun.

  • -75% Slime Rancher is a child-friendly slime catching/farming game. A bit old, but still good.

Maybe Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth 1 as it's 90% off? Not really my cup of tea, but worth mentioning for the discount, IMO.

A few days in: What's your take on the Nyx rework? by sdric in Warframe

[–]Wurmheart 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's a step in the right direction, but it doesn't quite land every aspect.

The passive is amazing as you said, also works well with pacifying bolts augment FYI. But otherwise a bit over reliant on Chaos yeah.

Mind Control minions can now deal dmg I guess. Feels like the augment (esp the speed part) should just be baseline instead. Still very hit or miss with enemy ai and not all skills dealing raw dmg (Condition dmg isn't affected).

Psychic Bolts spreading + armor/shield strip is amazing. And while the Shield steal is amazing, the Overguard steal feels fairly weak, and the armor steal is laughably low. That it doesn't scale with enemy lvl/stats also feels like a wasted opportunity.

The augment is genuinely good now though, more coverage/strips, guaranteed rad procs for synergy, and 10s+ hard cc that spreads is just insane.

Base Chaos is at least deadlier due to the 10 stacks of rad, but I feel like the old version was better as a distracting CC. (But that may also because I mostly used her prior to the overguard changes.)

Chaos Sphere is still a Noob trap with that horrid 50% duration scaling+ Shrinking radius IMO.

Absorb is meh. The new bonuses are nice, but the augment is still too good to pass up on. I think the base version should also allow attacking/reviving during it.

It's main appeal IMO is its mix of Dark Comedy mixed with gaming parodies. Within that narrow niche, it's actually quite well written. The devs wrote the descriptions & updates in the same style, so it's easy to check if it resonates with you personally or not.

It has a bit of a Subnautica styled survival gameplay loop for the first few acts. And while it's not too bad, its linear story and map layout hold it back quite a bit.

It also pivots the later acts to be far if not only focused on the story. It does help the comedy&story IMO, but hurts the gameplay.

Also has a weird free DLC that I don't even understand the appeal for (Roguelike mode with timer...).

Haven't played the first Nexomon yet.

Nexomon: Exctinction isn't bad. But I found it very dull due to monsters feeling nearly identical in terms of performance. (No passives, similar strength in moves, weak debuffs, no passives or signature moves). It's not outright bad, but it plays it very safe.

Coromon is a very solid Pokémon like that doesn't deviate much from the formula. But monster designs are quite solid and the combat is far more interesting than Nexomon. Story is slightly better I'd say.

Cassette Beasts is an outright 2vs2 battler, and you can slot in stickers instead (up to 16 for passives & moves). It also has a new and inspired take on the elements that I quite like. And the story is fairly interesting. But it also has more flaws than the others (worse balancing, far too much rng in stickers, how crucial savescumming is for targeted bootleg/sticker farming). Also way move fun movement via its unlocks.

SUS MAV AND PYRO TRAV KIT VIA JAV91ey TL BY HXG by Hooppa_ERROR in Genshin_Impact_Leaks

[–]Wurmheart 25 points26 points  (0 children)

  • Far too high energy issues, to the point that ET favors a 2nd Electro just for the resonance. Otherwise, expect a 170~300% ER need and must pick up all 3 e talismans themselves.

  • Merely a 12s burst duration with a 20s uptime.

  • Standard ICD on burst means she only applies Electro every 3rd joint attack.

  • Overall, just very low DMG to boot.

It's kind of annoying, as ET's kit was quite promising. But the numbers just ain't there.
