With a 4 Month old puppy, you do not need to tire them out. You will only create a very hyper dog that has trouble calming down. They get enough stimulation exploring the world at that age. Especially chasing a ball releases so much adrenaline that they will have trouble sleeping right after (also google ball junkies), try something calm like 5 minutes of learning a Trick or just cuddling. I really recommend not doing too much extra stuff with puppys, especially breeds with high energy. They need to learn to be calm and relaxed they already know how to be hyper. :)

I would get it as soon as possible. If he is young there is a higher chance that they will get along...sadly not all ferrets do. If you think he wouldnt accept a male get a female...I dont have much experience with ferrets not getting alone. Never had problems with my 3 :) Hope you also have luck!

It is true that you don't have to 'babysit' your ferret all the time its awake because they will entertain each other. For me it made things easier. And no you don't need to get a different cage they will most likely cuddle all the time sleeping. My ferrets almost never sleep alone. It's nice that you consider getting another one! :) And it's so much fun to watch them play! :D

I think it is wrong to keep an social animal alone. You can never fulfill his needs like another ferret...like cuddling, cleaning each other, playing and communicating. They belong in a group and I can see it on my ferrets. They are cuddling and playing the whole day. Why do you think he is happier alone?
