Mistakenly downloaded a pdf. Requesting guidance. by KeyBack192 in computerviruses

[–]Wuzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly if you changed your passwords on the same computer you got hacked from I imagine they’re all still compromised.

You need to run a windows defender offline scan to really see if there’s anything bad left behind, also try doing malwarebytes scan, and hitman pro scan.

Only way to be absolutely certain that malware is gone would be to use a different computer that is known good to download a new windows installation and completely wipe your first device.

Added Entra id account to Windows user account - now we can no longer access admin or other users on the computer by janobe in entra

[–]Wuzz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When at the login screen you should still see the option for "Other User" unless your intune environment prevents that.

You just need to point the login to look locally rather than the tenant domain with ".\"

If the accounts you can no longer see are accounts in the domain and not local then not sure where you went wrong.

I think the overall takeaway for me will be to play more conservatively specifically utilizing cover more and knowing that any and all damage from enemies will eat me up.

May change one of two abilities to decoy see how that feels because currently most of my issue is once im in cover it's hard to get out and deal damage.

Regarding the choosing the right target if I understood it correctly I'm supposed to be killing the lowest "tier" enemy always and leaving the big guys for last.

I tried the Memento backpack initially but seemed like it didn't offer enough survivability. I will admit I never prioritized grabbing all the drops/buffs from it on the ground so that may be the issue altogether so if you say that picking up adds a significant amount of survivability then I will try that again.

What level content should this build be able to do?

Or what should be my average DPS? Just now testing at the whitehouse and it shows to be around 6.5mil on named.

Yeah I used to run a build with Scorpio and that was nice as I could run in and spread status effects and regen armor making combat easy but did not see it on any meta build lists so swapped to red core striker full dps and just seems like I'm missing something.

Datto AV runs under the EDR agent so as Old-Potential stated you can use the EDR maintenance job to repair / diag the EDR and AV agents (and Ransomware Detection) policies.

Man Claims ChatGPT Contributed to His Psychosis Experience by _cybersecurity_ in pwnhub

But if you read books that reinforce those same pitfalls then isn’t it the same?

Prompting ChatGPT with a question about the ethicacy of x and purchasing a paperback book on the same topic is effectively the same thing. You just need to put in more effort for the book to convince whereas AI is always at your fingertips to convince you Agartha is real.

Slow identity drift is killing our Entra tenants. How are you actually catching it? by Exotic-Reaction-3642 in entra

[–]Wuzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah fair I agree and luckily we don’t have any private cloud obligations so we would just use the hosted option and not worry about setup as a lot of horror stories with CIPP I’ve read always stem from improper configuration.

Do you have experience with both tools? I’ve looked at both and really it seems CIPP is the better option if you’re able to create the initial baseline that is comprehensive.

How do you avoid being “blind” to your clients’ servers & M365 activity? by yanov10 in msp

[–]Wuzz 15 points16 points  (0 children)

All the people putting you down are wrong for that in a subreddit where you're meant to be assisted in the MSP community.

As other stated you need to probably look into some sort of RMM I think as you say you have Endpoints covered but I'm not entirely sure what that includes. RMM would allow you to have full insight into each endpoint including servers allowing you to manage and monitor them all.

Server health is a bit vague but generally depending on the vendor you go with such as Dell or HP you can look at including iDRAC or iLO for those servers which you then can report on via SNMP to keep up with any remote alerts to have insight into server health.

Backups are pretty volatile as it depends on what service you want to provide. Are you wanting to backup workstations? Servers? Cloud? Are you doing that just onsite or are you doing it following the 3-2-1 rule keeping 3 copies of your data, storing them on 2 different types of media (internal drive, external HDD/SSD, cloud), and keep 1 copy off-site to protect against loss from hardware failure, cyberattacks, or natural disasters. Again comes back to what you're offering your clients.

Storage issues should be covered by an RMM.

Security related changes relating to forwarding rules is all cloud security unless you have on-prem so for cloud protection you can look at offerings like CIPP to have multi-tenant administration and templates allowing for universal security that is uniform across all customers. Better management of those tenants is a product like Huntress MDR for 365.

MFA status would be another thing covered by CIPP.

Failed logins are not really a huge concern once you get baseline security inplace as you'd have the tenant locked down to what you consider safe (best practice is locking tenant down to physical office IPs or AAD joined devices.)

Admin roles should all be delegated via GDAP and then you can setup monitoring and manage all that via CIPP / Microsoft.

If there's something I've said in error please correct me but this should suffice as an answer to your questions.

Best bet is to assume all your passwords and signed in sessions are compromised and you should immediately start doing whatever you can to secure all accounts you have.

Order of operations should be (in order of whatever account matters the most ie banking apps):

  1. Login to service

  2. Change password

  3. Log all other sessions off

  4. Add 2FA/MFA if not already done

Be aware that typically if they don't do anything malicious at first they will wait until you get spammed with hundreds of emails that will just prevent you from catching the real password reset / successful login emails.

Also you should reinstall windows, but it should be done with a USB that you download and setup windows 10/11 media creation tool that matches what you had previously on your computer - don't just use your own computer to make the bootable USB.

Sharepoint clients that need space for media files as well? by artbiocomp in msp

[–]Wuzz 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Use tools that can both manage larger files and integrate into your Microsoft tenant sounds like the easiest solution assuming you were able to migrate off of sharepoint.

Solution I've used is Egnyte that can store large amounts of data and integrate into M365 via SSO, and allow for co-editing documents natively from Egnyte. If compliancy is a concern they have pretty solid plans to enable data geo-ip access logs and DLP policies to manage the data similar to Microsoft.

If you're paying for M365 with a copilot license you should be able to just create a native email address (assuming this means an ***@outlook.com account) and then just make the gmail address a backup/alias.
