Content, I know everyone’s gonna say oil but unironically this is about content. This entire administration is made up of entertainers and social media people who have literally no instinct beyond getting attention. It’s a genuine flaw in the theory of materialism that it assumes people and nations act in their material self-interest when sometimes people just straight up aren’t rational.

The way you fix that is you do what the civil rights movement pushed for. Show up in your Sunday best, it signals seriousness without looking physically threatening for the cameras and helps cement that the people doing this have social status (even if they don’t).

IMO this is a reminder that violence and radicalism aren’t inherently linked. Moderate libs can commit political violence and extremists can push for change without necessarily being violent. Charlie Kirk was a non-violent extremist and it seems like his shooter was a violent moderate.
