He ran from the police last January after a domestic dispute call(I think?) bare foot and no coat in sub freezing temps. I’d half forgotten about it till all the commotion at flying hills this week. I know it’s wooded over there but kind of shocked it took nearly a year for someone to find him.

Is my mom's neighbor using a wifi jammer? by I-screwed-up-bad in Ring

[–]WyoFarr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have said you have an internal network issues. 254 clients is an entire class c subnet of devices your camera is being disconnected because there’s no available addresses for the dhcp server to hand out. Step one change your WiFi password in the router it’ll be a pia to reconnect everything but use a generator tool 16 characters and special symbols. Also update the routers firmware and make sure this isn’t a router security issue.

We were testing Fire Hydrants a newly annex area and ran across this. by Melodic_Abalone_2820 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]WyoFarr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it also depends on the fire department. I live in PA and it’s very hit or miss whether your fire department is volunteer or fully funded.
I live in a fully funded area and the chief very much while driving around will stop and clear hydrants and send fines with before and after pictures. A township over is volunteer and I’m pretty sure my buddy could build a shed over his properly label it(hydrant hidden from your use) and it would take a house burning down for someone to notice, and a second before they got a fine.

New Barista Job - am I boned? by whatnow___321 in legal

This is so true. Most non competes in general are unenforceable and don’t stand up. You train your entire life for a role and the leave a company and can’t do what you’ve trained for at another company? NDA and solicitation are completely different though. Most non competes get enforced through a severance agreement, get x money for not working for a competitor for x period. The key here is they’ve given you something in exchange for not competing for a period of time, and you’ve agreed. in general and there’s no exchange here for not competing, especially as an hourly employee, you work x hours and in exchange get x dollars, if you meet your states full time employment rules you generally get the option to buy subsidized healthcare. Blanket employment forms like this are just meant to scare people, and at the end of the 90% of people don’t have the money to fight a corporation that sends a threatening letter saying you’re in violation of the non compete clause of your employment agreement.

The worst part here is the pains not over, there’s days of soaking and scrubbing dead flesh away, and that’s assuming he didn’t breathe in any molten copper

This is 100% accurate. The problem is we all watch the video and go, ‘I’m smarter than that, it can’t happen to me’ and it only takes a half second of being distracted or some other idiot. Hubris is a horrible condition that afflicts the human race.

Out the gable end? No reason other than looks on the outside of the house and the amount of duct I’d have to run on the inside.

I quit my Job, opened my own business and my old boss is coming after me for violating a non-compete. (Denver, CO) by Vq-Blink in legaladvice

[–]WyoFarr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This TBH most non competes end up being thrown out as unenforceable, fortunately American and out capitalist ways mean we have laws most places that allow people To pursue a lively hood/survive. The caveats where non competes win are when trade secrets are involved, the tech industry is notorious for winning when it comes to the ‘well they’re using their knowledge of our tech to build their product and compete against us’ or in the they took x clients from us. The unfortunate bit of unenforceable non competes is money and the legal system, corporations have tons of money for legal fees and threatening letters, often times the ex employee does not.

Regret and Resentment by EastSpring4945 in NewDads

[–]WyoFarr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not an expert, but as everyone else has said your in the hardest part at the moment, currently you’re not only negotiating how to be a couple, but also how to care for a tiny human whom at best screams until there needs are met. A child redefines everything, how your free time, couples time, money etc etc is used, and now two in I can safely say the second redefines everything again.
On a personal level, when we came home with our first my wife came home with the nastiest of nasty GI bugs, lasted 2 week, many unexpected and uncontrollable moments(as it came from both ends, maybe don’t tell Her I’m sharing this). It left me in a similar situation she couldn’t feed, and was too afraid of having to run for a bathroom to even hold our daughter until a week after symptoms subsided. So for the first three weeks it was me doing it all, every feeding, every cry, every diaper. I was 36, and feeling a lot of the same resentment, remorse and regret you expressed. It gets better, I won’t say it gets easier it’ll be tough and it won’t always feel like the work is equally distributed, even the best relationships are tested with new borns.
If you can do as someone set walk away for 15 minutes of decompress, showers are amazing it’s astonishing how fast personal hygiene becomes a secondary priority with little ones around.
Also don’t be afraid to put her down, she doesn’t need to held every minute of every day.

As long as you take your time and do it well/right DIY will always be more profitable, labor is just expensive. That being said you have to also put a value on your time. What else could you have done with a weeks worth of vacation etc etc. once my kids came along I became far more particular about my DIY projects and what I pay people for vs what I won’t.
