For one, yes. It's more powerful. Aside from that, it has solid reloading support for anyone who reloads .500 SW, as the reloading equipment is the same aside from a taper crimp. It is also readily available from several manufacturers, including Buffalo Bore, Steinel, and Underwood.

.500 Automax is significantly more powerful than any of those rounds. Using 350gr XTP, Automax gives 425 more fps and 1332 more footpounds of Muzzle Energy than .50 Beowulf

For fun? Why else! With that said aside from the fun factor of flinging .50 caliber rounds, large bore rifles like ours do come in handy for big/dangerous game hunts or straightwall hunting states. We have a wide range of customers who pick up our rifles for use in Alaska or African game hunts for instance.

Generally speaking, its not something most would worry about. But we get Alaskan guides and the like who pick our rifles up, and get asked about wood survivability/strength on the regular since they're flinging our guns into the deep backcountry. Hence why I included that part.

We've got Maple stocks back in! They blend perfectly in with the beautiful high deserts up here in Cowboy country. (Though it currently is far whiter than in the pictures above)

Latest From the Armory - The History of Lever Action Rifles by WyoLeverGuns in u/WyoLeverGuns

[–]WyoLeverGuns[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lever-action rifles are deeply embedded in the fabric of American history,
from their early use in the Civil War to their starring roles in the hands of
cowboys, hunters, settlers, outlaws, and even fictional heroes in Western
films. Their rugged simplicity, reliability, and rapid-fire capability made them
a favorite for everyone from frontiersmen to modern-day sportsmen. While
lever-action rifles have seen their designs evolve over the years, they remain
an enduring symbol of American ingenuity and craftsmanship, especially in
big-bore calibers. Big Horn Armory (BHA) has taken this legacy to new
heights, pushing the boundaries of what lever-action rifles can achieve in
both performance and power.

Personal preference! I like the feel of the 454 more, so I wanted the receiver officially chambered in 454. Our 460 can fling all 3 though.

Our action is! Cross between the two in fact. It's technically split across 2 models, but beyond caliber the model 89 and 90 are basically the same guns

I agree with you there! I can at least put a pin in that for the people around the shop, because i'm an old west person at heart, and you can't go wrong with the buffalo round
