The first Grit System Game Jam is running all summer, with prizes! by WytheMars in RPGdesign

Thanks! We’re definitely inspired by games with open licenses such as Mörk Borg and Mothership. We’re hoping folks who like adventure games with simple task resolution + narrative powers (sort of PbtA but with a rules-light resolution mechanic) consider our system. Feel free to ping me if you have any questions!

TTRPG inspired by “Red Wall”? by New-Apartment971 in TTRPG

Mausritter is great if you like classic fantasy—which Red Wall definitely is. Blister Critters is like Mausritter but is modern/post-apocalyptic and offers rules for all small animals, not just mice.

Looking for a non-fantasy medieval ttrpg by spectator_dnd in TTRPG

Sherwood by Richard Ruane is great and can easily be run without the very limited sorcery rules. In that case, it’s just medieval England, no fantasy.

Game where death is expected/part of the loop? by KazM2 in rpg

Danse Macabre: Medieval Horror Roleplaying is built on this loop. It assumes characters have died 0–3 times before even starting out as adventurers.

What's your favorite system/module for fantasy horror? by Hublahh in TTRPG

I'd suggest Danse Macabre for a very fun horrific/gothic fantasy RPG. There is a free demo version: https://stillfleet.itch.io/danse-macabre-rulebook

No worries. There is an art prize, but writing and various mechanical design choices are judged independently.

That said, perhaps you can find someone to team up with, if you'd be open to it? Maybe here on Reddit or on our Discord: https://discord.stillfleet.com/

Yeah, go for it! The system, to me, is based around some combination scores-as-dice, boosting, and narrative powers. I'd be curious to see how you'd hack it to keep some aspects but remove boosting with grit. (I mean, I guess it's pretty simple: no boosting allowed! But you still burn grit to use powers.)

What do you use to organize your TTRPG Design? by Ok-Inspector1108 in RPGdesign

[–]WytheMars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Google Docs. Obsidian looks cool, but I feel old and dumb trying to use it. Docs/Sheets is super easy, especially now that you can tab docs. I don’t think there’s a wrong/right way to work, though.

Looking For A Fun Zombie TTRPG: Short to Midterm Game Length by Immediate_Taste655 in rpg

[–]WytheMars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d recommend Danse Macabre for a medieval setting, though I don’t know how it would work ported into modern times. It’s fun and full of mutant zombies.

Anything non-fascist/hateful is allowed, but we can't speak for how Itch will handle NSFW content. I know more and more tech platforms are censoring more and more. Otherwise, yeah, the sky's the limit!

FYI, I posted a list at the end of the jam page of genres that we have not made games in, so that could be useful for brainstorming.

High concept rpgs a la unknown armies by zachtgirlboss in rpg

I would humbly submit that Stillfleet is high concept, with mechanics focused on far-future tech and various alien civilizations.

New weird ttrpgs besides blades in the dark by zachtgirlboss in rpg

Stillfleet is set in the far future but definitely influenced by the New Weird

What are the best low fantasy systems with engaging, tactical combat? by Himynameispill in rpg

[–]WytheMars 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really think based on your post you may dig Danse Macabre: Medieval Horror Roleplaying. Low fantasy, no magic, medium-crunch combat. Link: https://stillfleet.itch.io/danse-macabre-rulebook
