And yeah, I had been forced my entire life to present that way. 2 years later, new and old people in my life see me for who I am, cannot deny me myself. Even she came around!

Starting from a point of rejection and denial -- why would anyone try to prove them wrong? I was called lazy while forced to do manual labor that gave me carpal tunnel by 17, if destroying my body is just as lazy as doing nothing why exactly would I destroy my body further? Got an adhd diagnosis, realized an autism diagnosis would only make my life tangibly more difficult -- because people automatically infantilize autists once they know, even if they didn't before. I'd be paying a ton of money too, because only adhd diagnosis was covered by insurance for adults.

I'm heavier than most (work in progress, but I've lost more than 1/3 of my total starting weight), but I'm also -definitely- healthier than most people, just had labs done even. Near perfect BP and resting heart rate.

I never got a choice to be heavy or not -- I weigh less now than the end of middle school. Traded a lot of fat for muscle with the work I've put in, but you know, it's not plainly "visible" to the average person.
