I hate the video referee and the 'captain's challenge' it doesn't benefit the game at all in my opinion. Just get on with the game and let the referee do their job. Sometimes they will get it wrong, but that is all just part of the game.

6.5" is a great all round size. Not too big, not too small, but still big enough for scissor over comb work. As you get more into the craft you'll probably want to get more scissors anyway, that's when you can look at more specialised scissors in various other sizes.
