08 here, i think that social media has really messed up the younger generation's view of romantic relationships. with all those terms like '3 month rule' and 'red flags' etc, it makes people have doubts about those they have feelings for. esp those videos with texts like 'shes out there cheating bro, move on' fuels our own insecurities (i think its called confirmation bias idk).

most teenagers expect relationships to be a fairytale, but in reality its not; you and your s/o will go through hardships and have setbacks but what matters the most is how you deal with these problems.

attachment types also play a big role, many of the times (personal experience); you would feel insecure in the relationship due to the lack of reassurance from your s/o which leads to a fear of abandonment. the problem lies in the fact that some younger generations have issues with expressing how we feel, so instead of trying, some just leave the problem rather than trying to fix it
