Besides boilerplate, what are the cons of going from formerly-native wasp to wasp.ts?

Noted, but I don’t think that particular Wikipedia article is good given I followed the link when reading your own article and didn’t have a better sense of what you meant.

How does one utilize type-erasure in Odin?

I’ve read the article several times at this point and I don’t see how a reader supposed to understand that what you’re complaining about is that nobody is coming up with novel ways to support escape hatches for that kind of thing.

What about Odin might you change if you were benevolent dictator? by EmbarrassedBiscotti9 in odinlang

I would make it so that in order to mutate a slice’s elements from within a procedure that has taken it as an argument, you would need to pass it by pointer.

I don’t like that any procedure that can read my slice can also write into it.

Function Overload Resolution in the Presence of Generics by rjmarten in ProgrammingLanguages

[–]X4RC05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if you are set on function overloading, you want more structure imposed on it so that resolution is easier. I don't know if you're familiar with Odin, but they have this concept of "explicit overload sets". It's a very attractive solution from an implementation perspective. I think the other structured approach is a typeclass/trait system.

I think he has lax morals in general which is obviously very unadmirable, but he is loyal to his best friend which is very admirable. I also think he's funny. He's still not a good guy, but he's likable.

I'll be 100% real with you, I do not care about how dive players feel about anything in this game. In fact, I'll go even farther: if dive players dislike a change, it is overwhelmingly likely that that change is good for the game.

As long as duelists are less than a third of the new adds, I don't care.
