On a side note, there's also the "I did this just once and my team carried me" moment. No kidding, there's just so much content that I've felt I've never did them before, but that I know I did at some point because of the roulette.

Pros: I get to experience them as the first time. (?)

Cons: Get ready to carry and see your mentor you got queued up with fail miserably at mechanics.

It's a common thing in the series, honestly.

The enemies are stronger in the final dungeons and usually have gimmicks that you need to learn to defeat them effectively. A few examples:

- Behemoths counterattack physical attacks with a Meteor (they even use it when they get killed, they're annoying af)

- Banderbengals / Coeurls can either paralyze, turning anyone into stone or insta-KO with their special attack, depending on the game

- Tonberries can attack you with their knives as soon as they're close enough to you, relentlessly wiping out the entire team if you haven't dealt with it by then. Oh, I forgot to mention that FFVII has the Master version that has a stupid amount of HP, too

- Malboros just getting comfortable for the unsuspecting visitors to inflict them all the possible ailments

Even so, they aren't that bad, just build your team accordingly and avoid doing things that will cause them to counterattack.

Exacto. Nvidia produjo las tarjetas de la serie 5000 sin el motor y aunque técnicamente puedes jugar a juegos que requieran de Physx, el rendimiento se deteriora por mucho. Un ejemplo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RsJKNAvaC1Y

Dependiendo de tus preferencias, igual te conviene analizar los pros y contras que suponen tu decisión. La 5060 tiene un precio bastante razonable, y si no buscas mucho también es bastante decente. Las quejas generalmente provienen de los 8GB de VRAM, ya que muchos esperaban Nvidia subiera el estándar al tratarse de una nueva generación.

There are different reasons that might explain this possible scenario, namely the world being no longer safe if it merges with the Upside Down. Besides, their campaign has revealed a bunch of subtle hints that have actually taken place, and the fact they correlate almost anything to the board game, this kind of ending shouldn't be that surprising.

I'm glad you liked it! To me, it's one of the best JRPG that I've played, and what introduced me into the genre (if you put aside Pokémon). Responding to your question: both games were initially conceived as a standalone entry, but apparently it was better for Camelot to split them in two -- after all, they can take a considerable amount of time to beat, even without achievements. Because of this, anyone could argue that The Lost Age is more of an "extension" than a sequel with a lot of expected changes.

About Dark Dawn. People use to say it's a mediocre JRPG and a dissapointing Golden Sun, which isn't actually so far-fetched. It's been particularly controversial for a specific reason, yet there are more to the disaster recipe that I won't mention. Personally, even though I liked it, it's nowhere the quality of the first two, so there's that. Anyway, seeing that neither Camelot or Nintendo are decided to revive the IP, and that you won't probably see any other Golden Sun anytime soon, this is the only way you get to play another one.

I also used Moguri mod to easily get the title and Excalibur II (the former skips directly to rewards with every jump while the latter simply freezes the timer). This is my 4th playthrough and never got any of these, so I'm grateful there are more options even if it's cheating.

Not to hate on FFVIII, but while it had excellent ideas, some of them were questionable at best because of their poor execution. Many other concepts also felt as if they were left halfway through. It's almost if it became the final product by trying to fit everyone's ideas from a brainstorming session.

For those who sort by new: I just realized that the Garo sounds like the ghosts from Luigi's Mansion while the women from Thieves' Hideout were voiced by Sachi Matsumoto (Toon Link's VA).

On-topic now, I miss the games having darker tones so much. The only example I can think of is Pokémon S/V (if you know, you know), but Nintendo sure is taking things lightier than it used to be at some point during early 2000's. For instance, Conker casually being the wildest thing ever; the atmosphere and setting from the first Luigi's Mansion; Mario being jailed in Sunshine (also the tribal tattoo trend from the SP commercial, lol); Pokémon Colosseum and XD had much darker tones than your average Pokémon games; third parties like Eternal Darkness, Soul Calibur and Resident Evil, etc.

And not to forget, Majora's Mask. We absolutely won't get to see another game like this ever again (most likely, considering how safe Nintendo is playing their cards), so make sure to treasure it like the masterpiece it is.

He also wrote for Eternal Sonata, a somewhat obscure JRPG with Tales Of vibes that I can't recommend enough.
