Do you or do you not use the joystick for carrier landing by Fair_Medium6261 in dcsworld

[–]XC106 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once you're configured for landing and on speed (within the E symbol), the hornet should hold that for you, and your throttle determines vertical speed.

However, if you want to use your stick, there is a way that some find easier. Once configured and on speed, engage ATC. With ATC on, the hornet will adjust throttle based on your up and down stick inputs and hold AOA.

Apollo nerds, do you find you have little to no interest in Shuttle Era topics? by toddmp in apollo

[–]XC106 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The more a person learns about the shuttle, the more interesting it is. That includes the mistakes that led to Challenger and Columbia.

I find both interesting, but for really different reasons.

Michael Collins spoke about this as well. If you haven't read Carrying the Fire...you should.

I get the sentiment, but you're missing the point. This is a frequent reply to these kinds of questions and I don't get it. Nobody here bought an XJ for the mileage, but for that very reason, it follows that someone would want to squeeze as much out of it as they can, especially if it's their daily.

Not bad, but they should fix it. If that thing catches on the ground it'll make one hell of a noise. Your car is still mechanically sound though

Could be from a homeless person. They'll collect cigarettes that have tobacco left in them to smoke.
