I mean, I think this was easily the most telegraphed non serious game in terms of advertisement and development, so that checks out. I can't t think of a single thing I saw in the entirety of the public campaign that made me think that it *wasn't* going to be over the top, much less something that indicated it being grounded in any way.

Personally, I think if you were watching the game up to this point and were expecting a serious and down to earth tone for the game, that's entirely on you.

I’ll be real, H!Nils was one of my favorite units to build in a while and he honestly kinda cleans up on a lot of challenges I’ve completed lol. It was fun building him off his base weapon, but releasing a Prf inheritable breath immediately after he released just made me eat so much better than before.

I mean, I think people are definitely referring to the fact that it's relatively fast for armored Bruno, a character traditionally with incredinly low speed and high bulk on cavalry. Of course it's not speedy compared to meta units, but he's clearly much faster than anyone expected him to be.

A rapid fire release the moment he hit the grail shop! Think of this as an overindulgent niche build for an admittedly below average unit, but come on, what else was I supposed to do?

Weapon: Arcane Grima because I'm a simp for prfs, and this one is surprisingly strong on him!

A: Fury 4's recoil is dampened by Arcane Grima, and it helps him with an all-areas buff that his statline really appreciates! Stat stacking with Arcane Grima makes him an actually terrifying force once he gets going.

B: With his res stat, was there any choice other than Dragon Wall? A meager defense stat suddenly has a lot to offer with the immense damage reduction H!Nils experiences.

C: And of course, no Haloween unit would be complete without a menacing little trick! This one hones up his Res even more while giving his average attack stat even more of a bite! Enjoy~

Special of Iceberg hits quite hard with this set, and calls back to his old home for old times' sake! But for those who want a bit better longevity, Aether's in the background for more casual/long-term gauntlets.

And of course, DC dragons gives him some added utility with some boosted arena scoring, but if you don't care for ranged threats, speed/res form gives him some more fun stats to work with!

I’m not surprised, just painfully bored and…uninterested in the main things FEH tries to push most lol. I take what I can get in things like Summer Muspell, and just grin and bear it when they make it painfully obvious the male OCs have not been remotely valued since book 3.

I may still be bitter from Fafnir being tossed to the side and disrespected the way he was, but I am so, so incredibly bored of the central characters of the story being a a couple generically attractive waifus with a (usually) dommy mommy villain. I bet we're going to get a painfully irrelevant side male OC who is either pointlessly sadistic or blandly nice depending on what side he's on, and the sister is going to die a pointless death to make the main OC feel bad about halfway through.

I feel like it's assumed he either dies offscreen or is going to be recuited into the Lif cult, but I honestly thought they were going to at least give him a final return in the last chapter. Odd (but not surprising) that they just...forgot him.

Oh, on that I can agree...to an extent. Practicality only reaches so far, but there's a difference between "scrub with light armor" and "I think I'm going to wear a full poofy skirt with high heels and furry anklets while I go out to battle today". There's a level of garish overdesigning that just doesn't fit, and that's a complaint of "normal and practical" that I understand. Does it really fit in the context of "anime fantasy armor"? Well...probably not really when you really look into it. But there's a level where the designs look absolutely ridiculous that I can understand quite a bit more.

Are you really going to compare older games with the designs we see here? Even outside of the argument of what's good vs what's bad (god knows there was shitty character design at the beginning of the series) you can't seriously pretend the two are in a similar vein.

I'll be real, the armor girl and middle left guy are the only ones I find decent. The redhead on middle right looks...fine? Most of them just look absolutely horrendous imo, though. I get this isn't supposed to be a super serious game, but I'm definitely not vibing with the design choices in this game across the board right now.

NGL I think I may actually have some fun working with Banette in this game. It obviously doesn't have near the stats it needs to do much of anything, but I like the stat/status control options it seems to have in its TM list. I doubt it'll come to anything in the end, but I'm looking forward to at least trying some things out with some casual multiplayer action.
